LIAN LI, a leading manufacturer of computer chassis and accessories, unveils the EDGE GOLD series power supply, the latest addition to its T-shaped PSU lineup. Tailored for dual-chamber and tower cases with its longer cables than the original EDGE PSU, the EDGE GOLD redefines connectivity and maintenance with innovative features such as the world's first removable USB/PWM expansion hub, and a removable magnetic dust filter. This fully modular PSU is equipped with industrial-grade EPCOS capacitors, ensuring stable and reliable power delivery, and is compliant with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards. The LIAN LI EDGE GOLD PSU, backed by a 10-year warranty, is available in black or white in 1200 W, 1000 W, and 850 W models, and in black only for the 750 W model.

Centralized Connectivity
The EDGE GOLD has a removable USB/PWM hub that can be attached directly to a power supply or placed inside the case using an 8-pin PCIe interface. It offers four USB 2.0 headers for up to eight downstream ports and has a total output of 2.5 A, along with six 4-pin PWM connectors supporting up to 2 A each for UNI FAN groups. Enhancing the LIAN LI Wireless ecosystem, the hub features strong magnets for easy mounting. It comes with the EDGE GOLD 1200 W and 1000 W models but is also available for separate purchase. Included are a fan PWM Sync cable, an internal USB to USB header cable, and a USB header to USB Type-A cable.

A Refined Form Factor
The EDGE GOLD retains the T-shape of the EDGE series, presenting an outward-facing modular strip for easy cable accessibility. The new removable magnetic dust filter replaces the previous intake grille, making cleaning a breeze. The filter detaches via the pull tab, and the embossed design of the mesh still fits mounted with the mesh side down, with a high 66.9% porosity for excellent airflow. The 120 mm fluid dynamic bearing PWM fan supports zero RPM mode for completely silent operation. EDGE GOLD models up to 1000 W have a max fan speed of 2000 RPM, with the 1200 W model reaching 2400 RPM, for maximum performance and quick heat dissipation.

Stable, Durable Performance
The EDGE GOLD employs industrial-quality EPCOS capacitors and Japanese capacitors. The small and robust EPCOS capacitors can better handle temperature spikes, broader temperature ranges, vibration, and harsh environments. With an 80 Plus Gold, Cybernetics, and PPLP Gold rating for great efficiency, the series includes OCP, OVP, OTP, OPP, SCP, and UVP protections. The EDGE GOLD is built to last, coming with a 10-year warranty for dependable performance.

Longer Premium Cables
The EDGE GOLD PSU features extended and braided textured cables compared to the first EDGE, and the added length ensures clean routing of cables for larger or complex PC builds. The motherboard 20+4 pin, CPU, PCIe 6+2 pin, and 12V-2x6 cables have a pre-installed cable comb, with additional ones provided to ensure a clean-looking setup. Two sets of custom SATA power cables are included, a Y-Type and Extender Type, to minimize cable clutter when connecting multiple devices.

Availability
The LIAN LI EDGE GOLD PSUs are available starting January 3rd, 2025.

Just on the wrong side, at least fan wise. You don't need it inside the case, there are plenty of options way more convenient than the psu on the bottom of the case, you need it outside for the external radiator.

In this version of the PSU, they added the ability to move the hub away from the PSU, and power it with an 8-pin PCIe cable.

I guess it's convenient for the .01% that don't already have several of both. The longer cables are a smart addition I can truly appreciate. The stubbies on my FSP suck.

IMO its more "fanciful" than other PSUs but not so fanciful enough to be a strong selling point.
Would be cool if they made a PSU-Case combo where there are external-facing USB A and C ports that are PD-enabled.
But that could be a mobo maker's job.

They are very nice in Lian Li O11 XL and PCMR cases I'll testify. The cables are a plus imo.

Looks kinda hard to use psu with the power plugs being slanted like that.

This is for Lian Li wireless RGBLED, right?

I'm seeing a good idea that's totally locked to a proprietary ecosystem. Few other RGBLED systems use USB headers, the two 'standards' if you can call them that are 5V ARGB and 12V RGB. The physical connectors for those are pretty janky IMO, but the pinout is standard and the communications protocol is standard. RGBLED is enough of a complete mess without proprietary standards. Why would you want to lock your PSU into that fustercluck too?

Anyone else see the irony in naming it Edge Gold PSU and it only comes in black or white?
Perhaps call it Edge PSU, Gold rated.

I think those rgb builder videos / itx builder videos always use stuff from one brand. I doubt those youtube build videos use different brand components.
So you have one software with windows only.

Hole RGB stuff is a mess. Luckily I'm not interested in that. Gamersnexus with level1tech? had a topic on that openrgb stuff on youtube i think.

So this device is an active pass through hub then. I presume you can adjust individual fans on it for different pwm profiling or is it in a sense just a node?

It has a single "PWM sync to motherboard" header, so presumably all connected fans mirror the same PWM signal.

It's possible, but highly unlikely that Lian Li have embedded six fan controllers that can be controlled in software via the "USB Sync to Motherboard". I find that unlikely because that would be expensive to make and the one theme ARGBLED has stayed true to since introduction is "cheap to produce, but sell at huge margins".
