I'm trying to undervolt my i7-6700HQ laptop. On Windows 10 I used to do it just fine and it would noticeably change my laptop's acoustic profile, but I did that hacky method of installing Windows 11 on my 6th gen laptop and now I can neither install Intel XTU (it errors out saying "Attempting to install on an unsupported platform") nor undervolt my CPU via ThrottleStop. Also tried every method you described. Is my only option to return to Windows 10 if I want to undervolt this laptop?View attachment 276346
VBS is disabled but unfortunately the FIVR is Locked by the BIOS. That means no access to CPU voltage control.
Do a Google search for your laptop model. Some users have disabled the voltage control lock by modifying a couple of UEFI variables. Here is how to do this on a Dell laptop.

Hero! You saved me from returning my overthrottling and heating Thinkpad.You need to disable Windows 11 VBS including core isolation memory integrity. ThrottleStop cannot access the CPU voltage control register unless VBS is disabled. After that, reboot and delete the ThrottleStop.INI configuration file and try again.
