Looking for a 2560 x 1600 monitor 30" or 24"+ capable of BFI / strobe

2560x1600 hasn't been mainstream in decades (it was high end at the time when 16:10 was normal). The closest you'll find is used market or a 16 inch "mobile" or "portable" monitor. Those aren't always vesa compatible either.

Yeah, 2560x1600 is effectively obsolete. You might wanna look into 27" 2560x1440 or 34" 3440x1440 models.

No idea about strobing but it definitely is a thing.

There is no such panel in existence, period. 16:10 died out in desktop monitors. Which is unfortunate since for actual PC use it’s arguably a superior aspect ratio to 16:9.

And how is having more vertical pixels obsolete? Your silly BS isn't wanted here

well I guess my Q90A the built in upscaling r gonna have to hold it down, assuming CRU don't turn the damn thing into smoke

Yeah but when demands are high enough again they can design something jus like thatsomething, assuming the masses make request to monitor companies, I saw there was some superwide x1600 while ago and I was hoping there'd be something new by now, oh well

Like imagine a large size TN 16:10 for the purpose of gaming w/ strobe and not caving it off to demands mindless sheeps wanting why isn't my online video scaled properly

16:10 displays are hard enough to find, as it is.

24.1" BenQ SW242Q

Those are pretty much the only 2 that come up off pcpartpicker.
The 24.1" BenQ has faster response times, but I have no idea if it could be OC'd and modified for BFI or strobing...

You may want to take a look through Monitors Unboxed's YT channel perhaps you'll find something that will peak your interest there

https://www.youtube.com/@monitorsunboxed they do a good selection of reviews of various monitors of varying refresh rates and resolutions and their firmware systems
Yeah I found no 2560x1600 monitors that can strobe, ytube is overated imo

3:2 displays
and
8:9/16:18
exist...

Still, no BFI/strobe, though.

Have you considered multiple portrait 16:9 displays to get the real estate you're looking for (w/ BFI/strobe, etc.)?

If BFI/Strobe is being sought after for motion clarity, OLED technology is far more compliant towards that.
Figuratively/anecdotally, 120hz on an OLED, looks considerably 'smoother' and more motion-accurate than a 144hz or 165hz VA LCD.

Please yourself but finding what you are looking for will be like looking for hens teeth as most manufacturers of monitors have done away with 16:10 monitors in favour of 16:9 for both professional or gaming monitors

Jus cause those stupid manufactuers mixed what dvdplayer/tv and gaming monitor and turned it into an lesser item doesn't mean we lose options, don't you get that

16:9 is a TV ratio, don't you get that silly head?

That's cool and all of an opinion to have (TBH, I deeply miss 16:10, too) but, you're either gonna have to adapt to the current market-conditions
or
seek and commission something (quite literally) exclusive, 100% not public-facing or -marketed. (meaning big big $)
Depending on the industrial-capability of the boutique builder, they might even be able to cut down a larger 16:9 4K-8K OLED into a smaller 16:10 panel for you.

There's also always the tiny chance of finding an older (applicable) 16:10 for sale used, etc.
Any multimedia or game dev studios nearby to you? The only other hope I can think of would be a liquidation sale, or eWaste from someplace like that.

No. It absolutely means we lose options as the manufacturers who produce these options don't make them anymore. You get that?

16:10 laptops use them these days

Your toxicity ain't wanted, either. I speak facts, no one except used market sells 2560x1600 monitors. Want something modern, you're limited to 16:9, 21:9, 32:9... But not 16:10. These are no longer produced. IIRC the last ones were built pre-2017.

Technically, BenQ did release a couple of 24 inch models last year with the panels they sourced from god knows where, but those aren’t high spec in any way, shape or form.

Yeah, and technically AutoVAZ produces vehicles. We all know how well it goes.

Ehhhh, Largus is an okay workhorse, innit? Silver lining and all. Same in this instance - I assume BenQ aimed those squarely at business customers who for *reasons* just must have inexpensive 16:10 options.

If the choice is inexpensive 16:9 and inexpensive 16:10, I'd go 16:10 too. Not at 24" though.
