Looking for advice - pimp my rig?

Hello there,

it's been quite a while since I've left the IT and now I'd like to refresh my older PC (HP ENVY 700-000ec, full desc. https://www.hpmarket.cz/productOpt.asp?konfId=E6P91EA). It had sandisk SDSA6DM, but it died quite a while ago and now the whole thing is slow as heck. So I thought about getting a proper SSD (250GB) for system at least and leave games at the old HDD. Maybe get a new graphics card or expand RAM.
However, I thought, maybe someone more experienced would have some ideas on whether it actually makes sense, or whether I should just throw this of a cliff, save more cash and get a new rig altogether?
Any ideas welcome :) Total budget for upgrade around $450.
Stats from Everest diagnostic attached.

Thanks and regards.

Edit: PC is meant for games (recently nothing requiring, but I had Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk recently as well and I'd like to try the new stuff too). I making videos also, but nothing too large or demanding.

Well, most of the time I'm playing games (recently nothing requiring, but I had Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk recently as well). I making videos too, but nothing too large or demanding. Thanks for question, I'll add that to post.

There's not much more performance you can get out of such an old system, you could probably upgrade to an SSD, 16gb ram and a 1070 class GPU, I wouldn't bother with something better as it will be severely bottlenecked by the CPU and ddr3 as is, though you could probably find a used 1st or 2nd gen Ryzen system for your budget or a little bit more

Definitely get a new system if you're planning to play modern games. Even a budget config, something like an i3-12100 coupled with an RX6600XT, will be miles better than any upgrade to your current rig.

As a side note, Everest has long been obsolete for PC diagnostics. I'd recommend using HWinfo in its place.

I would only get the SSD if you want to keep the pc some more time (maybe bigger one so you can have favorite games on it) and save the money for a new rig (also the system was probably upgraded already from original spec to 16GB RAM, GTX 1060)

I would honestly stretch the budget to buy a Ryzen 5600(U$130) + B550(U$80-120) + 2x8gb ddr4 3200MTs(U$40) + RX 6600(U$200).

Recent games make life difficult for quad-cores, just the time it takes to compile shaders is a pain. :')

Your best bet is to reuse the case and the 460W power supply you have now and replace the everything else in the system. This is the best I could do, but it is over your 13,300Kc budget.

Total cost is 13,156Kc on PC Part Picker. What you might want to do is slow buy the parts over time to extend your budget and get a better motherboard and CPU.

What is your budget? Cyberpunk 2077 4K (without compromises) requires a 4090… without major compromises… 7900xtx. with major compromises… PS5, lol.

My original budget was $450. However since then I got a little bit better income, so I might reconsider and up a few more things than just a HDD.

Not really worth upgrading TBH, I'd start fresh.

Wait for X3D Zen 5 and Arrow Lake.

Otherwise slap a 4070 in and call it a day.

At least then you can transfer the 4070 to new build eventually.

A piecemeal upgrade of several components will eat your budget and you'll be left with a lot of mediocre.

Yeah, sounds reasonable. I really should up the processor, HDD and change monitor, so maybe I'll go with these first, as those can be recycled.
