So i got this brand new Mingzhou RX 580 2048SP, installed the latest amd driver (Adrenalin Edition) and it started showing these weird artifacts (and driver crash error during heavy load)

That stuff doesn't happen when the gpu's driver isn't installed, another thing i noticed is that the artifacts only affect the active window (of the game/VLC/Chrome/AMD Software Adrenalin Edition)

GPU's temp is under 30°C and it's not overclocked
tried 2 screens/cables/PSU

Didn't try an older AMD driver, do you think it would make a difference?
Maybe the motherboard's pcie slot is bad and i need to try it on a new mobo?
Or maybe the RAM Stick is the culprit, who knows?

Heard this gpu's used for mining and most of the time it'll be flashed, also saw lot of people having great results after flashing it so here i am

Would you please help me flash this piece of junk to make it useable?

Here's the GPU's gpuz info:

Trust me it aint brand new and fyi AMD doesn't suck

And we can't guarantee it will be any better than now.

Go through these files and look for the 1s that say Samsung FE on the memory, those are the ones compatible with the card.

It's my first AMD product and i never had this happen with Nvidia gpus

I get that but what else is there to do? it's a do or die situation, thanks i'll see what i can find. (Am i supposed to make a backup of the bios i currently have before flashing?)

This one should work:

Thanks i'll try it out after i confirm how to/if i should make a backup of the gpu's current bios

GPU-Z - the button beside the version number. Should allow to store locally.

Thanks i just did, now how do i flash the GPU's bios?

Need the gui amdvbflashWin right?

do i run it with installed amd driver?
do i run it while using integrated gpu?

What are the Program & Save buttons for? (i clicked program and it programmed my vbios, i couldn't wait for you guys i'll just restart & see what happens, i got a backup just in case, one more thing tho, if i end up with the same problem or the gpu fails do i just restore it using the same gui amdvbflashWin thingy and integrated graphics?

EDIT: same thing even tho i flashed it. (i didnt uninstall the drivers & reinstall them after flashing the gpu, am i supposed to do that to apply the changes?)
EDIT2: when looking for new bioses, do i have to make sure that the memory support titles are the same? (samsung and E...)?

That card was mining abused, send it back and fyi ive seen mining abused greencards so it has nothing to do with amd.

Good luck.

You need cmd version of amdvbflash there is a guide for it.

Do us a favor and stay away from ali express or facebook market.

Thanks, sending it back is not an option unfortunately

The cmd method doesn't verify if the bios you're trying to install is actually compatible right?
Its like a force install, if thats the case then i'll stick with the gui method because at least it prevents you from installing uncompatible bioses

I'll stay away from AMD that's for sure.

Any other bios you can recommend? i've seen people use the cmd version to turn their 580 2048SP into a RX 570 and it worked but how do i know for sure it wont break? is there 570 gpus with similar memory thingies to my gpu (with Samsung and the E... word)

The 2048 SP RX 580 and RX 570 are actually RX580 with SPs disabled. So there is no difference between either or.

You will not be able to install a bios via the gui version so use the cmd version.

And fyi this has nothing to do with amd, you bought a chinesium gpu. That is your fault.

You bought some random Chinese brand of an AMD gpu. You are ware how most of these are made, right? They take mining cards, rework them, plaster their name and cooling on it and hope for the beat (oh, and custom bios it).

I'm not sure what you would have expected. And honestly I'm not surprised either of your experience.

Want a cheap AMD gpu that will work fine and possibly won't artifact? The AMD 6600M gpus modified for pcie use OR go official and a regular 6600.
