MSI GTX 1070 / 1070 Ti / 1080 Gaming X thermal pad thickness

Hi guys,

Can somebody please tell me how thick are the thermal pads on an MSI GTX 1070 / 1070 Ti / 1080 Gaming X? I've been looking all around the internet but couldn't find concrete information.

@W1zzard Is there a chance you remember?

good morning I have the msi 1070 you the same one that you uploaded asking, do you have the measurements of the thermal pad, the thickness?

Buy a cheap thermal pad of different thicknesses, and try.
Or just use some gum sticks first (can stack them to create various thicknesses), then replace with good ones when you're done measuring.

my 1080 is but its not the same model as yours so dont know if its helpful. think mines a FE by msi. this is my card MSI GTX 1080 AERO OC Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database ive since fitted a waterblock but the pads where the same size as the blower.

I replaced my 1070 with a 2060S before I could replace its thermal pads.

I have no idea although I'm not sure it needs to be replaced as it serves as an anti-vibrance pad if I'm not mistaken.

(MSI Gaming 1070ti) I can confirm that the memory chips' thermal pad thickness is 1 mm. I tried 2 mm and the card would instantly hit 80+ as soon as I launched any game. I didn't have 1 mm thermal pads so what I did was hold the pads between my forefinger and thumb and apply pressure on them until they became thin. I put the card together and it worked flawlessly. Other parts require 2 mm thick thermal pads.
