Those abbreviation I never cared for - MAG / MPG. Now they have to print the abbreviations on the board MSI Arsenal Gaming = MAG. That yellow look is not to my liking. The product pictures looks like cheap mainboard.

It's nice to see 5Gb Ethernet Ports. It's not so nice to not see the old DP connectors anymore. MSI should reduce the price and not provide sata cables, the other trash or e-waste gifts they provide.

A lack of 20Gbps USB ports is not to my liking.

Thanks for the disassembly pictures. It seems WIFI 7 does not always need those new antenna ports.

Interesting labeling with "Engineering Sample". Is this not an official retail mainboard?
I'm not sure if the usual Vertical M2 slot Module have E and A notches. This one shows only a E notch.

I miss a picture which shows the top view of the pcb when the WIFI module is not in that slot. How it looks like and which notches it has.

I appreciate the review!

I've yet to see anyone talk about the extra PCIE_PWR1 power connector, let alone test the claims by MSI (here).

Any chance you can do power testing with the 4090 and see if you can measure a difference?

I wonder if this is an alternative solution to the power draw issues that are befalling 5090..

I usually don't connect mine for the Z890 Unify-X. But I am also not using any of the USB4 ports or more than 1 PCIE slot and M.2 slot. Whats the harm is adding this? Most motherboards have a 6pin already, this is just 8pin now....

There's a massive discussion here about the 5090. I'm just curious if the "2.5 power excursion" offered by this extra 8-pin will help reduce the impact of power spikes through the 12VHPWR connector.
Seems unlikely to mitigate melting, which is more about sustained power draw.

Most if not all cards with 12VHPWR/12V-2x6 don't use the PEG slot for power at all. So I heavily doubt that it would make any difference.

It supports DP over TB4 though they could include a cable/adapter.

Very few Z890 boards have 20Gbps USB aside from the front panel connector. This is likely due to TB4 being on all of the boards.

for that PRICES, SATA cables MUST exist, though, I don't care about stickers, altough, it's NICE to get them lol
what's wrong with DP connectors? 4K@60 provided? ENOUGH.
