I bought a MSI PRO MP275Q monitor from Amazon. I plug it in to my PC and the only thing the monitor does is cycle through solid colors on fullscreen. Looking around on the internet, it seems it is either in some sort of factory test mode or "burn in mode". The advice I see around is to try to reset the monitor using the On Screen Display, but the OSD doesn't show up. And even trying blindly to follow the OSD menus as they're pictured in the manual doesn't seem to be any help.

Curiously, the monitor does play the system sounds since the audio is sent through the HDMI and DisplayPort cables. But no dice with the image, it's just cycling through colors. Though at least I can discard the panel itself being a problem that way.

I don't want to return it since sending it back to Amazon would be way more expensive than it cost me (international shipping costs 400 dollars and Amazon only covers 20, and I only bought it from Amazon because they shipped it to me for a ridiculously low 5 dollars).

Try this:

To reset an MSI PRO MP275Q monitor to factory settings, follow these steps:

Turn off the monitor by pressing the power button.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds.
Release the power button and turn the monitor back on.
The monitor should now be in factory reset mode.

Also, check the cable connections.
Try a different cable.
Maybe, try a different input if possible.

Hope this helps...

Sadly, no luck there
Also, check the cable connections.
Yep, did so when I got it. Tried both HDMI and DP ports, on two different graphics cards, with two different cables for each type of port and no luck there either.

In the meantime, I made a support ticket with MSI, though I probably won't get an answer until the next few days

Hey just checking if you had any luck with this?
I got two MP275 today - one worked out the box the second is behaving exactly as you described. Did you manage to reset it?

Oh, there was no luck in that regard. It's a monitor for the US market so MSI insisted on sending it back to the US but that was 400 dollars I was not willing to spend

I just had the same problem, I checked this forum waiting for a response and it didn't help me.. So I decided to try to open the monitor and it turns out that the problem was solved only because a flex was in place but it did not have the safety on, which apparently did not achieve communication between the Man Board and the TCON

Gotta make sure that flex is in place.
