MSI RX 5700 Mech OC vBIOS Flash Help "mismatched subsystem ID's

Is there a matching 5700xt BIOS? When I attempt to flash the "matching" MSI RX 5700 MECH OC BIOS(i.e. MSI RX 5700XT MECH OC BIOS) to my card, I get an error saying that the "subsystemID's mismatched." Can force flash it or is there simply no compatable BIOS for this card variant and I should stick to soft power-play tables to adjust the software limitations of the non XT 5700?

I am attempting to flash my MSI RX 5700 MECH OC to the MSI RX 5700XT MECH OC BIOS. The non-XT models have software limitations imposed onto them even though the two cards are very similar in regards to hardware specs. The problem I am running into is that my SSID is 3811 and I cannot find a bios that matches. The XT model of my card has a SSID of 3810. So, when I try to flash the bios using atiflash I receive an error saying that the SSID's don't match and the flash is aborted/fails.

I doubt that card has a dual bios switch.

What are your complete system specs?

I don't believe it does. I went looking for one to no avail

None have the correct SubSystem ID - 3811. I can match the SubSystem Vendor ID - 1462 being that that relates to MSI it appears. So, when I try to flash the bios using atiflash in GUI I receive an error saying that the SSID's don't match and the flash is aborted/fails. I can, it seems, force the flash using the command system to bypass the SSID check but I am not sure that won't effectively brick my GPU. When I use your tool, VGA BIOS Collection, it shows only my card when I search for compatibility.

Do you have an old back up card available?

I hope you do because even switching subsystem ids can cause trouble

I can only find one other MSI XT Bios even in the unverified uploads which is for the Evoke here...…………….

I agree with @eidairaman1, with only a single Bios a forced flash with non matching ID's is risky.

Thank you everyone for your help. I'll stick to playing with the soft power play tables for now then. But one question before I go, what is the subsystem ID referencing exactly?

The specific card and its config along with company info.

I would only flash a non dual bios card if i had an igp or spare working gpu.

And know how to enter the correct syntax for bios flashing in a command prompt

Ironically, that is where I was going next.

This card is non dual BIOS. Out of curiosity how does a spare card help? Simply to go back to while I try to RMA a card that has a bricked BIOS lol
Also, IGP?

The spare card allows you to reflash a bricked card when they are both installed.

IGP is integrated graphics processor. Your R5 2600 doesnt have one only the 2400G does etc.

All solutions are to recover a card you bricked.

LOL fair. Alright, no BIOS flash for this card then. I'll stick the SPPT's. THANK YOU!

I did not manage to get any further with flashing the card. Playing in the SPPT's worked well enough. However, my card developed a problem in which after the fan would ramp up, it would only decrease speed at about 2-3% every few seconds. Quite annoying after closing a taxing game. Ended up returning the card. Good luck

Thanks. I am trying that now but it seems to be crashing the card.

Ok I was able to flash the card using the command line. I tool a chance and it worked. So far though I don't seem to be able to push the card much without it crashing.
What is the preferred tool to overclock these 5700's? It seems the AMD Radeon software keeps crashing. I am getting 1999 @1200mv but if I try to push it much further it crashes.

Any tips or advice?

Thats MSI for you. If anything I would of Gone Asus, Sapphire, AsRock, Powercolor, XFX, maybe Gigabyte...

Run CMD as admin from the amd flash folder. Be sure your bios is backed up first. Then I just ran the following commands.

amdvbflashWin.exe - unlockrom 0

Wait for prompt. You should see a pop-up confirming unlock.

amdvbflashWin.exe - f - p 0 examplebios.rom

You will see a progress box and get confirmation as well.
