Why is cyberpowerpc and ibuypc w/e cheaper than the dell and hp?? are ibuypc and cyberpower pc reliable?? let me say that i wont build a comp on my own and im looking to get something like a 8800gt and q6600 and 2gb ram...

I hope I've swayed your opinion. Prebuilt computers are so overpriced, espically on the high-end units.

All of them cut corners, which'll bite you in the rear end in about a year, regardless of what warranty they put in.


If you really want to invest your money in a computer that'll last you two years or more, I hope you PM me, so we can discuss a way for me to build you a computer, and ship it to you.

You got a point there, but...I'm no less trustworthy than IBuyPower, considering my solid heatware, my credentials (moderator and paid news editor here), and the hundreds of people here willing to vouch for my good will.

I can get you a build with a Q6600 and an 8800GT, and warrant it for 3 years of high performance for $1200, not including monitor. I will include Windows Vista, Anti-Virus software, and an Office Suite.

Dell makes good basic computers, as does Gateway and HP. My family has owned two very high-quality Gateway builds, a desktop that ran for six years before we gave up on it, and a Vista laptop we bought this spring that rocks out loud. All my school computers are Dells, excluding the crap terminal servers. It's a privilege to get on a Dell at our school... . And my friend owns an HP computer, when he's not playing games on low settings 24/7, he's IMing people. As I said, great for basic/general use, but...if you want the quality that you can only get from a gaming computer, you'd better get it from someone who knows what they're doing.

I agree, for instance, my grandmother....her last 3 PC's have been Dell, they've all served HER needs perfectly well. Would they serve my needs? Probably not. I haven't bought a brand-name desktop in years, I have bought brand-name laptops, but that's another story. Even then my laptop's not a Dell, HP, or Gateway (well it's not technically a Dell anyway it is an Alienware), and yes I know numerous people have complaints about Alienware, but frankly I've never known anyone (not counting online) with a laptop that can even touch mine in matters of sheer performance.

just curious im pretty sur \e u know wat ur doin but wat is the amperage on the 12v rail on that 380 watt psu, also im not sure wat rail the cpu uses but i htk intel cpus also use the 12v rail so im wondering if 380 is even enough for a quad core, and that graphic card, i figure u know wat ur doin but just curious

i didn't figure it had 2 12v rails, i clicked on his link and the font wat like a wavy line so i couldn't see ow many it had or the amps. i didn't fifgure a small psu like that would have 2 12v rails nm, though i thk i'd still get one with a little more juice since the config has a quad core.
