A year ago i bought a Gigabyte RX 570 Gaming 4G card. It's paired with an Intel i5 3470 + Asrock B75M-GL + 8GB @ 1600Mhz RAM + A crappy PSU named Ultron VP500s 500W. When i'm on 19.10.2 driver i faced this problem once while i'm using MEMU Android Emulator. After Restarting PC then its gone. Recently I installed 19.12.2 v2020 drivers i played Sniper Contracts, Forza Horizon 4, MAFIA 3 @ High Settings without an issue. But sometimes when i'm working on the emulator screen goes off & Fans ramped up to 100%. But coz it didn't appear when gaming i didn't care it :( 3 Days ago same thing happen. Then i updated the bios via Gigabyte Flash from F4 to F6. But problem remained same. Now it is randomly off the screen and fans ramping 100% even without opening a game or whatever gpu intensive. All i have to do is disconnect the from the wall. Then When I turn ON the computer again Black screen appears & Fans 100% even without getting into bios. I google the issue & found on the linustechtips forum that a person with rx 480 got the same problem & after he replaced the thermal paste on the gpu problem solved. Then i replaced the thermal paste twice yesterday & problem remained stil. :( Today Morning i turn on the computer and it loads into the Windows :) Then I quickly download the FurMark GPU Stress test and installed it. Then error appeared & i turned off the pc. Then after few hours it turn it on & Run FurMark to if there's an thermal throttling or VRM Heating issue. Test completed with 100% utilization all the time & Reached 60 °C. i can't understand WTF is happening. Then i uninstalled the v19.12.2 driver & try to install v19.10.2 error appears again.

Sum
  • GPU : Gigabyte RX 570 4GB Gaming
  • Error : Turn OFF the screen & Fans spinning @ 100% speed
  • Replaced the thermal paste twice
  • No thermal throttling ( Furmark Confirmed it)
  • Updated the GPU BIOS & Reset Motherboard BIOS
  • Tried using a different PCI-E Slot
  • issue Randomly appearing without a gpu intensive task
  • when turn off from the wall after issue appeared and if immediately try to turn on the issue appear right in the moment even without loading BIOS
  • Uninstalled v19.12.2 driver & Error appears when v19.10.2 installing
If it's the PSU causing this problem? There's no any PC with 8 pin connector nearby to test the gpu :(
HELP!!!!

could be power supply but more likely the gpu is just dying/dead

generally power supply's either work or they don't they do not half-fail

Never cheap out on the PSU. Replace it with a good one.

Yes please replace the psu, dust the fans.

May need to replace thermal compound (least likely) replace monitor cable.

Power strip even

using 2yr ruin a gpu? ;(

I'm gonna try a new psu :)
Did this work? I’m having the exact same issue... not sure if it’s my GPU or PSU... but I think it’s GPU. But don’t wanna open it up because it voids the warranty...
