Hello all,

Recently I managed to get reference version of rx 6900xt. I was watching few videos online and reading some comments here and there where some people have managed to undervolt this gpu to insane level (something like 1080 mv UV, 2500/2600 MHz OC). I am trying to do exact same but my gpu keep crashing and giving me error during 3d mark timespy benchmark. After few trial and error I managed to change my unvervolt to 1155, clock freq. to 2349-2249, power draw to 15% but now when I do timespy benchmark my junc temp is hitting 100C and current temp goes around 80C. I would really appritiate your guys help if I can start undervolting and lowering these temps (I am noob to undervolting/overclocking).

Here is the picture of my current setting in AMD software

My specs are:
AMD 5600x CPU
32 GB 3200 MHz memory

Use afterburner and curve editor if it works on RDNA2. I had several problems with the AMD overclocking utility and undervolt with my 5700XT, afterburner worked like a charm.

keep the card at it's stock clock and reduce the voltage only.
going above the stock clock will move the whole "V/F Curve" so far away that you actually can not undervolt.
reducing the clock and undervolt results in much worse performance and very quickly instability.

try stock at 1120-1130mv. (that should result in ~ 1081mv-1093mv under full load and around 30W of power savings + lower hotspot temps)

Edit:
100°C on the hotspot is "okay" especially in timespy.

Apparently a hotspot below 110C is okay for this card but personally you should be looking at trying to dial in 90C on the junction temp. Your power limit is unnecessarily high. I would start by reducing that to 0 and working up from there to see if there are any gains in pumping it. Otherwise you're just feeding heat into the card. Improve your fan curve to max at 80% when the card reaches 90C. I think the frequency setting is about right and what the card should be able to do. Needless to say if you have crashes you may need to adjust up the voltage.
