i haven been running throttlestop for some time now, laptop is about 3.5 years old so throttlestop has been using the same settings since i had set it up the first time which was about 3 yrs or so, i forget what my old cinebench rating was back then, laptop was newer etc.. but today i have decided to update throttlestop version to 9.6 and decided to see how healthly the cpu was so ran it and these were the rating and these are the setitngs im using,

last time i did a thermal paste job was last year or so, but havent really had any issues with over heating, maybe some throttling i've noticed here and there, i dont really game on this laptop anymore, i used to when i first got it which was 3 years ago while undervolt, gaming ran perfectly fine temps were good etc, now i just run power apps and coding softwares / pentesting which i do want the most maximum power while i continue to use the laptop, but are these settings ok? is there anything i can improve in the settings for a little more power and less throttle ? hoping "uncle" can chime in :) as i used his tut years ago setting this up, which ran good since then..

i used to run the default turbo limits for this cpu i think it was something like this below but recently i turned it down to 30-35 range to help the temps a little better

None of the FIVR settings work when VBS is enabled. You need to disable Windows core isolation memory integrity. Follow the links in my signature to learn more. You need to delete the ThrottleStop.INI configuration file after you disable VBS.

Post an updated FIVR screenshot after you do that.

done :), its interesting you said that, i always wondered why the FIVR settings were a bit different, i remember back some time i turned on some security settings in bit defender and didn't know why it was disabled before...

That looks better. Now that your undervolt is working, maybe you can increase the multipliers a little for better performance.

You can set the turbo time limit to the default 28 seconds. Using 3+ million seconds of boost is probably not doing anything.

Your settings look OK. If the TS Bench 960M test reports any errors, increase the cache voltage.

thanks bud will try that out a re-test

i found my old ini settings i was using a while back, only diff is PL1/2 = 140 & TDP: OFF (everything else is the same)
would that setting make any difference ? this setting was being used for about 3 years so assume its ok to go back to this or is running TDP level @ 1 is important vs being OFF

did you mean cache voltage offset? or the 'cache voltage'

i was able to bump up my turbos again back to 38 which gave me 1000+ cinebench score steady 89-92 temps (not bad)
bench testing is pretty fun, i guess this time around it was needed

Yes, the cache offset is what I meant. You never need to play with the Voltage slider. Only the offset needs to be adjusted. Some 8750H are 100% stable with the cache offset at -138.7 mV. Some are not. It is all luck of the draw. You are definitely getting near the edge of stability at this level. It is usually the cache offset that should be adjusted first if you ever crash or get errors during any benchmark. The TS Bench is a quick and convenient initial test after making any voltage adjustments.

Now you just need to watch out for Microsoft randomly enabling core isolation again when you are not looking. A quick look at the FIVR monitoring table will show if your offset voltage requests are being applied or not.

Checking the Ring Down Bin box forces the cache to always run 300 MHz slower compared to the core. My 10th Gen always needs to have this enabled. I am not sure if this is necessary with 8th Gen.

yes, i've been running -138.7 mV for 3 years no issues as of yet, i did many bench tests the 3rd week of having the laptop lol so i was able to tweak everything to its core with no crashes or over heating, and those settings is what i ended up with, but one thing i do want to mention is i have always had 'EDP Other' pop up allllll the time even til this day it pops up i conditioned my self to ignore because it pops up even when booting and no power is running the cores so i ended up ignoring that 1 error but 3 years later LP2 occasionally pops up in the bench tests even with my current settings

now that i know m$ was causing issue i can go back to only adjusting the turbos again as i see fit based on load, looks like i dont have anything else to squeeze out except maxing out the turbos or adding more cooling... :)

thanks for the info
