Hi TPU community!!! :)
I have just ordered my new Acer Aspire One AO722.
It comes with following specs:

----------------------------------------
CPU: AMD Dual Core Fusion C-60 [2x 1.33GHz]
GPU: AMD Radeon HD6290 [400MHz, 256MB, 80 pixel pipelines, DX11 compatible]
RAM: 2GB DDR3-SD RAM
HDD: 250GB 5.400RPM
OS: Windows7 Home Premium 64bit

I bought this laptop to web browse, watch 1080p on the go and play some games!
My question is:

Can it handle following games and tasks? :

GTA: San Andreas / Call of Duty 4: MW / Call of Duty 5: WaW / Left4Dead / GTA4

I am planing on playing all games on lowest settings!! [no AA / 640x480 / no shadows etc]
Do you guys think that it can handle that?
And do you guys think that the performance is greater than a ATI Mobillity Radeon X1400?

Thanks ahead of time buds!!!! :toast:

At lowest settings you will be able to play most "old" games without much hassle, you can probably even play them on the screens native resolution (1366x768) at a steady rate (> 30fps) for most of the times.
As for comparing it to a X1400, there is really no comparison, way to different hardware, and even on tests "for the lowest common denominator" the HD6290 will simply outrun the X1400 by a long margin (definitely higher than twice the performance).

First of all: Thank for the reply! :D

Now my reply :)
DANG!!!!
More than twice the performance!?!?!
I thought that the X1400 is beast!! I played black ops on that thing! '~'

BTW: This is an updated version of the AO722.
Acer updated he CPU from a 1GHz C-50 to a 1.33GHz C-60 and the GPU used to be a HD6250 (280MHz) and mow a HD6290 (400MHz)

I was a pain to find this new model on eBay NEW for a bargain of $298.00 :)

GTA 4 will not run, SA might have a snowball's chance in hell.

Call of duty 2 may run ok, but 4 might have a bit of trouble.

Daaang!!!!
I ran SA on a friggin Radeon 7000 with 256MB RAM, 4200rpm 20GB HDD and a athlon 1000!!! :/
And all that on lowest with +30FPS!!!!!
Are you shure about that!?!?!?!

Will a XP installation or a new Windows 7 32Bit installation speed up things a little?
This dude is running MW2 on the low end AO722 model and it seems to run pritty good!!!

I'm a skeptic about any 'gaming netbook' out there. I'd just be prepared to not game on it but if you can squeeze some frames out then great.

SA will probably run fine seeing how it will play on mine. I haven't tryed cod will give it a shot later tonight. Can also play sims 3, command and conquer, half life 2 etc. Most play at close to native 1366x768.

My netbook is a Gateway 3104u

AMD Athlon x2 L310@1.5ghz (upgraded from an L110)
2GB DDR2@560 4-4-4-12 (flashed from 5-5-5-15)
320GB 7200RPM (upgrade from 250GB 5400RPM)

cool!
Thanks!!!
I used to have a Dell Inspiron 1501 with a X1150, which is a little older than yours!
San andreas was running pritty good on max except AA and Shadows.
CoD4 would only run on all low 'smooth' in small multiplayer maps like 'shipment' or 'vacant'.
