Hi all,

I'm just posting this to see if anyone else has the Logitech G502 and has experienced problems with it, or if I am just really really unlucky?

I bought one about a year ago, within 6 months, the left mouse button died. Got a warranty replacement that lasted 3 months before the left mouse button died again. I'm not on my second warranty replacement (so 3 brand new mice) and now the scroll wheel has begun squeaking which is annoying as hell.

To top it off, warranty support has gone downhill in my country and I have to rely on the retailer for warranty support.

I've always used Logitech mice for their software, support and build quality, but for my next mouse, I think I'll go with a different brand. What manufacturers build the best quality mice these days?

I've had two g502 heros and i really like that mouse. The right click was the first thing to go on both of them. The first one last damn near 2 years and the second lasted less than a year and they both endured relatively similar usage so not much consistency there. It's definitely a little bit on the heavy side. i don't like heavy mice but i don't like super light ones either.

A few moths ago after my second one broke i switched up to the g402 because it's cheaper and I wanted to give it a try. It's really average compared to the g502 in my opinion. The side buttons feel really chintzy and i cant adjust the weight like with the g502. Who knows though, maybe despite the feel it will hold up for longer. When my g402 sh1ts the bed I'm going to switch up brands as well, nothing against logitech i just like trying different stuff and i've been using logitech for long enough now

The one good thing about Logitech mice is that there are usually lots of guides that help fix them, though I have killed a couple this way as well. It's not too difficult to change out the brass/metal spring inside the buttons, with a little patience, and it's safer than soldering. I do like the style and feel of the G502 and when it's out of warranty, I'll likely fix it and use it on a second computer while looking for something else that's more durable.

Well kudos to you for even attempting to fix a mouse. I will be honest and say I'm usually too lazy and don't like going without so generally when a mouse breaks i instantly buy another one. I've been thinking about grabbing an ifixit kit though since i just built a new system and i still have my old g502 so that option is not off the table =)

edit*

what do you think of this one? Seems like it ought to be sufficient for pulling apart smaller devices like mice and controllers right? I have zero functioning controllers and like 6 old broken ones so it would be cool if i could put together a working one or two plus like i said i have one of my old g502s that would be a nice bonus as well. Either way this toolkit would be nice to have and it's a very reasonable price.
