Hello Folks, I'm looking for a solution to the the following problem I'm experiencing with a new build PC -

The PC works and plays fine, but when booting I get blue screen error sad face windows 10 multiple stop codes. The codes range, even after mem scan I still get the same issues with different cycle of error message. Its a bit of a pain and would like it fixing.

Spec -
  • MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI, AMD X570,
  • 32GB (1x32GB) Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX Black, PC4-21300 (2666), Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 16-18-18-35, XMP 2.0, 1.2V - Model number - CMK32GX4M1A2666C16
  • AMD Ryzen™ 7 3700X,
  • EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER SC ULTRA GAMING 8GB GDDR6
  • 1TB Corsair MP600, M.2 (2280) PCIe 4.0 (x4) NVMe SSD

I've not made any changes to settings or speed in bios. The ram is installed in DIMMA2. No issues in hardware or any missing drivers.

I'm looking to order another stick of 32GB for Christmas but want to fix this issue in case its a definite Ram issue.

Has anyone else experienced this issues and resolved ? :)

Check the Windows Event Viewer for errors (application or WHEA).
That is an odd choice for RAM. Why 2666? This will cut you CPU-RAM bandwidth by a lot!

People with corsair kits posting about such issues has become a theme.
Start by running jdec non XMP if it persists .. erm not sure manual timings can fix things, but you can try manual timings and voltages nonetheless

Is that Ram on the QVL for that Motherboard?
Have you got another Hard Drive to boot from after removing the NVME drive?

This.
Check for a BIOS update, then install latest board drivers.

aside from that, 32gb on a single slot can be finicky, not being on the QVL list does not help matters. Most of the time a BIOS update will help some issues, but if that doesnt work you'll have to edit the BIOS.

If I recall at the time of purchase 2666 was the better option , I cant recall to be honest. I complete above steps and let you know.

Here is why I went for 2666 - On the Scan MB Spec website is states > So i assumed 2666 was the max this board could take.

Memory Type (R/U)UDIMM (Unbuffered)
Memory Speed (Mhz)
  • DDR4 - 1866
  • DDR4 - 2133
  • DDR4 - 2400
  • DDR4 - 2666

Also what Ram would you recommend for this rig ?

Corsair LPX modules are fine, as long as you get the AMD specific ones. 3600 CL16 is a nice place to be, two sticks ideally though.

Ok some updates here - Ran the Bios update and a load of other new updates all installed. Upon booting up the PC this morning same blue screen error Stop Code : memory management this time. - also a note I only get this blue screen error in the mornings when first boot up. It hangs on the EDGE logo then i need to force close and power up.

I've had a look at the QVL list and this RAM I have is NOT listed - CMK32GX4M1A2666C16 -

So I'm at a point of returning this RAM and going for this > https://www.scan.co.uk/products/32gb-2x16gb-corsair-ddr4-vengeance-lpx-black-pc4-25600-3200-non-ecc-unbuff-cas-16-135v-amd-ryzen-opt - CMK32GX4M2Z3200C16

Will this one be sufficient ?

or is it better to edit the BIOS?

On the QVL site I see multiple tabs - Memory By RX 3, Memory By RX 3 etc - what are those options ? As I took the code CMK32GX4M2Z3200C16 from the Raven Ridge section ?
