one of my clients brought me his toshiba, stating it does not turn on at all. I figured bad power jack or psu. got new jack installed it, also tried a different psu and still the same problem. I sent the board in for service (ebay) figuring the board was bad. yesterday the board came back, along with a note that the board has been repaired and works successfully. i plugged it into the laptop and still no power. i tested various parts of the board with a multimeter and there is power to the board, it just does not turn on or charge or do anything. upon testing though, there was one spot on the board that after plugging it in, it gets very hot even though the laptop is off.
question
1) did the guy on ebay ripped me off? (i figure he didnt even do anything with it)
2) is the board beyond repair?
below is a picture of the chip that gets very very hot instantly as i plug in the adapter:
Chip is labeled : s1125 ti 9aj p6de
