im putting this all new computer together but i get no video output from gigabyte b760m-ds3h motherboard

these are all brand new parts im using, it has the i5-12400 cpu and i have 32GB DDR4 ram

the motherboard turns the cpu and case fans on, and i get the one startup beep as usual but monitor is getting no video signal to it

i have no signal to my monitor at all, and everything worked before i upgraded these parts

i tried using vga port and hdmi port from MB and i put in my working GTX1060 gpu and still got nothing

i tried using the dvi as well as hdmi cables on the gpu, and i get nothing from any of them

only thing i know fort certain is i get the one beep on startup from MB and thats it, so its not giving me any blinking lights or beep codes from MB

im going to assume its not the CPU's IG at fault, since i tried my gpu in it, and still get no video output

my question is, can this be a bad MB issue? im at a loss as to what is wrong here.

i need help from the experts here, but im assuming its a bad MB

TIA

Watch this video:
I did that with similar motherboard model Gigabyte B660 DS3H AX DDR4, I5-13600kf, 64GB DDR4 3200mhz Kingston Fury Beast and also Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 6gb G1 and everything works. If that's not working, maybe RAM isn't compatible with this motherboard or power supply is weak or bad.

i forgot to update my specs, the specs now show correctly what parts i have

well my MB doesnt have that reset button, and as far as i can tell i dont see anything on the MB for that

this is my MB - https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16813145426?Item=N82E16813145426

i just built this exact computer, all with exact same parts, this is the second one that i am building

the only difference is, mine has the i5-12400F because i have a gpu so i didnt need IG

im on that computer right now so i know everything is compatible

if something isnt right with the MB, i rather RMA it, rather than fool around trying to reflash it

ahh that's a key bit of info. if you have built more than one identical system, then yes you surely know the hardware is compatible.

so here is what I would do next.

take that i5-12400F out of this system "A" that is giving you issues and put it in system "B" that is otherwise working fine

take whatever CPU is in system "B" and put it in system "A". so we're essentially just swapping the CPUs

if the other CPU goes into system "A" and everything works, we know it's not a motherboard issue. I would then bet you might find the issue migrates to system "B" and could suggest it's the CPU.
if system "A" is still giving you problems, and we already know the CPU you just installed in it is fine, then it is possible it is the motherboard. but I wouldn't stop there
continue swapping components between the working system and the one giving issues. such as RAM, and PSU. reseat all cables to be safe too, to make sure none just have a poor connection

you actually have a pretty good troubleshooting scenario here. it should be relatively easy to swap components between identical systems until you find the culprit

ok so you are thinking it could be a cpu issue? i thought if the cpu was bad, the MB woiuld still post to bios?

its really not practical for me to take both computers apart at the same time, and my cpu has no IG

besides that, the good working one, is always constantly in use so without it, i would have no way to report

back on the results, i realize the computer would most likely not even notice the swap to cause issues

is there any other way to know for sure if its cpu or MB without swapping cpus?

one more detail thats most likely important, on my board right next to the sata cable socket plugs,

when my good computer starts, i get a couple of red LEDs that light up as it goes through its startup post routine

on the board in question, the LEDs on that board, never light up when it tries to start, only the internet port lights up

It's possible that you have no video post, because microcode for that cpu i5-12400f is missing in factory bios version. Also, that cpu exist in two series C0 and H0. I've watched video before on Youtube about problem with AMD Am4 socket also Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite, where Ryzen 5 5600x won't work in dual channel mode, even when they switched with identical cpu. On other motherboard Z570 also from Gigabyte worked fine. Problem was bios version, because after flashing newer version everything worked as shoud. Gigabyte b660m ds3h ddr4 on same LGA 1700 socket has problem before in earlier bios versions with no video post. Motherboard refuse to work with two ram sticks and problem with legacy graphics. https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/tkr376 Like was suggested in previous posts, there's no way that you can find where's the problem without swapping parts.

the 12400 is the cpu i have in the computer that is not working, the 12400f is in the computer im typing this on right now

not sure if this helps but here it is https://www.newegg.com/intel-core-i5-12400f-core-i5-12th-gen/p/N82E16819118358?Item=N82E16819118358

there is no CO or HO anywhere i can see, here are the numbers from the box

product code - BX807512400

serial - U4G77U1503107

batch - X408M874 (this is printed right on CPU)

mm - 99ATJ6

im going to RMA the MB, thats the easiest way for my situation, if it happens again with another board, then i know its a bad CPU

i thought it would still post to bios if the cpu was bad, i never had brand new parts with a bad cpu, or bad MB before, just the occasional bad ram stick

===========================================================================================================

well i found this video that helped me understand things better, its for amd, but the important things are the symptoms and solutions discussed

now im thinking i might have a bad cpu and that would suck to wait a week for another MB

just to find out, i need to rma the cpu, and wait another week for it to come in. :banghead:
