nokia pc suite connectivity..

I have a nokia 6650-fold phone and I just got a micro USB cable off of newegg, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812189164
I plug it in, it asks to find drivers so I did, it found nothing. So I downloaded Nokia PC Suite, that just gets stuck on connecting to device, even let it sit for an hour. I'm lost, I have no idea what to do here... I just want to take some pictures off the damn thing.

Ok I got it working in vista easily. It recognizes it but I cant see any of my photos or put music on it.. This is really annoying!

Yeah, I was using it for a while for my N95 8GB. It's crap, half the stuff doesn't work, it slows boot time (if you have it set to start on boot) and it's so finicky when it comes to connecting your phone...

When you connect the phone to the PC you should get a number of options, one of them is Mass Memory, or something similar, if you set it to that it is seen as a removable device.

You might have to go looking through the Settings to get it to do this.

You dont have a lappy with a memory card reader if you do you can copy them from the card.

did you try to switch off your phone and take the battery out for about 30 secs then connect?
I had to do that with my sony ericsson when I was flashing it...

No it's recognized, it just doesn't let me do any of the options to put music on it or take pictures off and put it on my computer.

Well id say your only option would be then to find out what card it uses get one then transfer your pics from the phones memory to the card.

When its in " non compatible mode" it should show up in my computer instead where you can just use it as a removable drive.
The PC suite programs have always been really bad.

Only one of my phones worked with it ( I've had over 20 Nokia phones over the years)

Anyway just to clarify when you connect your phone to the computer does anything come up on the phones screen?

Hmm see if you can change the USB data cable settings on the phone its self, I'm not sure where they will be on your phone but on mine its located in.

Settings/connectivity/USB data cable.

Hopefully there should be a setting labelled " mass storage mode" or something along those lines select that instead of what it should be set as ( normally Nokia mode or some such)

Good luck! Nokia bring out so many phones its hard to help you with any accuracy.
