See picture below. I used this cable for my 970 ti, which had 6 + 6 pin setup. But now i am trying to connect a 3060 ti, which has 8 + 6... but as you can see, this cable does have 2 additional pins that would add 8 to one side and 6 to the other, which is already plugged in... will this work or do i need a different cable..?

Pardon for another noob question but i hope someone can help/advise me on this.

Edit: Well, the 2 pin definitely fit into the place, as you can see. Is it good to go now or..?

Edit: You need a better PSU "EVGA SuperNOVA G3 550W (for now...)", isn't good enough for your hardware.

You should be fine with that, I have a 2070 Super with 8+8 pin one cable connected, no issues, I have a 750 Watt PSU though.

Just be sure your PSU can handle your latest upgrades.

It's fine, but the minimum recommended PSU for a 3060 Ti is 600W. Your 12700K is probably already pushing that a bit.

OP has a 3060Ti, but yes he needs a new PSU with that setup.
The "EVGA 550 (for now)" doesn't cut it.

Yeah thats a run of mill unit those specs are basted upon, garbage units are overrated, high end units are underrated.

gaming wise he should be around 375w and can hit 475w at load. The PSU can handle it although the fan noise from the PSU may be bothersome to the OP. If it was me I would use the PSU for now while ordering a new one (or saving up for one) since I hate fan noise.

Alright. It did work to just do as i initially thought. Thanks for the advises anyways!

Hmmm, is that so? In that case, perhaps you lot can suggest me a new PSU in this thread then? I'd greatly appreciate that! I am a bit lost in the world of PSU, so some pointers there would be nice.
