NVCleanstall driver not being recognized by Windows 11 24H2 Updates - auto downgrading!

Hi there,

Been using/recommending NVCleanstall for years and never had issues. Since Windows 11 24H2 though, Windows updates keeps downgrading my Nvidia drivers for my 4080S to really old versions. I can't stop it as it is not 'optional'! I tried going through Microsoft Support and they said the following:

"To manage driver updates effectively, it is important to understand that when Windows detects a hardware component without an existing driver, it automatically downloads and installs the latest driver to ensure functionality. After the initial installation, the driver becomes manageable, and any additional updates require approval before being offered to the device. "

So it is like it cannot see that the GPU has an existing driver! However if you look in Device Manager, the 'driver date' and 'driver version' all look correct for the Nvcleanstall stripped driver. Everything works fine, just that every Windows Update it automatically installs an old driver over the top and I have to re-install and re-optimize everything again.

* The issue is NOT present on Windows 11 23H2 (I have dual boot on the same PC)
* The issue is NOT present on a full driver direct from Nvidia
* The issue is being seen by EVERYONE I know using Nvcleanstall and Windows 11 24H2, but perhaps others here are not seeing this behavior?!

Please help!

Kind regards,

Alex
