Nvidia RTX 3060 hashrate restriction bypassed by miners

A week before the release of the RTX 3060, Nvidia announced that it would limit the hashrate of the latest Ampere member.
If the driver detects Ethereum mining, the hashrate will be halved by software.
The company then indicated that this limitation cannot be removed.

According to Twitterer iLeakVN, Chinese developers have already managed to get around Nvidia's restriction.
A screenshot shows a setup of eight RTX 3060 cards, each of which has a hashrate of approximately 45 MH / s in the Dagger HashiMoto algorithm.
A Vietnamese Facebook group has also indicated that a mod exists that allows the RTX card to achieve a hashrate of 50 MH / s.

It remains to be seen how this will affect the availability of the RTX 3060.

Aside from mining specific GPU's it would probably be simpler and more cost effective for GPU manufactures to have a mining SKU that simply omitted the graphics ports, RGB, shroud, and fan. Then mining cards would be a bit cheaper for miners and they would eat those up first.

Problem is resell.
I'm not a fan of mining think it's a waste of energy for the meager gains but nvidia has crossed the line dictating what a product can be used for and going as far as gimping drivers to lower performance.
All it will take is a lawsuit to wake nvidia up plus I'm sure nvidia accepts coin too lol

It seems resell value is an important consideration. As a potential consumer of a used mining card how does mining depreciate the performance and value of a card over time? I would like to see an article on TPU that explores this. Rather than GPU companies wasting resources and increasing cost gimping cards with half-baked solutions I'd rather have them implement something like S.M.A.R.T. for GPU's so the consumer can get some idea of a GPU's condition when buying a used card.
