Hi guys after being overseas for a long time and finally came back with my system not being used for some time lol. I decided to open it which I'm using now and I decided not to use OC genie and when I turn it off (while my pc is powered down and psu is off too and unplugged it) and turn everything on again I can see the blue leds of my pc but after a few seconds it turns off and this cycle keeps repeating for some time (I haven't cleaned it yet but looking inside it isn't as dirty as it's supposed to be and looks pretty clean with just a little dust on the fan. I'll try cleaning it tomorrow if it does any help but does anyone have any idea on why does it keep on being on and off with oc genie switched off?:banghead:

edit: of course everything works before even with it turned off before I left and just decided to turn on oc genie to see what it can do and forgot about it and turned off my pc before I went overseas but now coming home it's like this and I'm tired lol from flight.

Hi

Maybe; disable the feature in the motherboard bios

Edit: this - OC Genie Button:
OC Genie
This button is used to automatically overclock the system. Press this button once
while the system is off to enable OC Genie. The button will lock remain depressed
until it is pushed again to disable OC Genie. On the next boot, the OC Genie utility will
automatically overclock the CPU settings to optimal performance values. To disable
OC Genie, power off the system and press the OC Genie button again. The button will
depress and the CPU configuration settings will return to normal values.

Reset Cmos and see what happens. Asus has a MemOK! button. You can also try using this feature if the memory is unstable.

Give it a rest guys!

Lol this happened to me too, you mightve blew a stick of ram (LOL) remove all but 1 stick and try starting up, then try each stick to figure out if you REALLY did blow one up

OC Genie is an MSI feature, not ASUS.

Clearing CMOS will not fix anything if OC Genie is enabled.

I use OC Genie to recover from a bad OC. Enable to get back into BIOS, then when in BIOS, turn it off while the system is still on, and then reboot. This should put you back into BIOS with default settings, as described by LawII up above.

Being able to boot with OC Genie enabled, but not when it's disabled, usually indicates a memory problem, so xxdozer is one the right track, methinks.

I thought you reviewed motherboards, and had a chub for the MSI Z77 GD65 lately? I would have expected you to know that OC Genie has to do with MSI, nothing to do with Asus MemOK button.

Could be a failing start button again as that's what mine and de das dudes did.
Try swapping it for the reset.

I'll try this out right now, sorry for the late reply, I just woke up XD so tired if but I'll try cleaning it out afterwards as it takes time to remove all these fans and dust without destroying my loop.

edit: LOL actually I noticed this on my msi bios all things that can be change have [ ] to them like this blk [100] or voltage [auto] but on my multiplier option it only has AUTO without this "[ ]" and when I tried to enter or press left and right or something it doesn't work, I can't seem to change my multiplier anymore. anyone experienced this?

Genie made me think Gene(Asus).. I am sure you can appreciate that and probably realized that too

lol ya think MSI may have had this in mind when they named it Genie?:wtf::wtf::wtf:

ok seems like it's starting up normally even with oc genie off but I still notice this otehr problem I can't change my multiplier it's still stuck at stock settings but I can change and save any other programs I had this before I made some cleaning and now that I finished cleaning the fans and case and stuff I'm still having that problem but it seems that the oc genie problem is solved.

edit: went out to buy my self a corsair vengeance m65 artic white ^_^

let your PC warm up for a while? run prime 95. it sounds weird but, sometimes PCs and the ICs can get a bit damp.
always a good idea to leave desiccant in the case when its been shut down for a long time.

if you dont have desiccant, place some rice grain in a bowl.

@ de.das.

hmm that oen got me interested, I'll try it out
