OC HD5770 vs. OC HD6850

Only cards I could compare.

I'm sure those of you with HD5770s wonder how these two cards compare in an over clocked system.

I want to eventually OC the 6850 to at least 1GHZ on the core. Limited voltage control software right now.

I'm sure I'll be able to hit 1GHZ on the core of the HD6850 as soon as some voltage control and higher clocks become possible with MSI Afterburner or SaphireTech Trix.

I hacked around with the settings in the config file of MSI Afterburner to unlock the clocks.

Able to get 1GHZ on core of HD6850.

looks like from the gpu-z window the 6850 is slightly better then my gtx-280 not by much so maybe an upgrade is in my horizon

you got something SEVERELY WRONG with those numbers for the 5770 flashed to the asus bios.

with my single 5770 with the stock xfx bios 850/1200 i get the same numbers you get for the 6850.

My settings for Heaven Benchmark have 8xAA enabled.

That makes a big difference.
