Actually it looks exactly like a Razer Tarantula without the lights. I'm sure it's a fine keyboard.

I'm unimpressed with mine. The rubber coating is starting to come off of one of the keys and the shift key is loud, loose, and sometimes sticks. It's hard to find a quality wired keyboard at a reasonable price these days. Everyone is pushing wireless keyboards really hard, but messing with batteries and interference drives me crazy not to mention occasional difficulties they cause when trying to change your BIOS settings

I don't think OCZ has ever manufactured there own products they rebrand everything from laptops, heatsink, mice, keyboard, ssd, power supply, etc.

agreed.

the OCZ Elixier is either a Logitech Wireless 510 or Logisys Ultra Slim Multimedia.

iOne Scorpius M10 is the cheapest mechanical keyboard you can get uses Cherry MX Blue Switches great for gaming and even non gaming my Das Ultimate added 10-15 WPM to my count.

I know it's not cheap, but I have to say my new Logitech Illuminated Keyboard is the best build quality I've seen in a keyboard (tied with my Logitech G15). I was lucky enough to snag mine after a few coupon codes from Dell for like $50. Here's to hoping it lasts a long time.

Logitech keyboards are a joke. the only one that has any value is the dinovo because of the slim housings and rubber dome switches good for quiet operation.

Do you want to back up that statement, or are you just trying to cause trouble? I have owned lots of Logitech keyboards, and i tried a Razer one and went right back to Logitech.

nope just know what i'm talking about. both Razer and Logitech are a joke they market tactile response how can you market that when USB only allows 6 simultaneous keys? not to mention the so called "gaming" models like the G15 and G19 use dome switches you can find in a $10 keyboard what you do is purchase a iOne Scorpius M10 and a USB to PS/2 adapter and you will leave the $200 G19 in the dust.

So how do you propose we design keyboards? Almost every keyboard available right now uses USB. Most of the reason Logitech's keyboards are more expensive is because they are a reliable and reputable company that have good quality control (my problem with Razer) and make some nice working stuff.

99% of people don't need more than 6 simultaneous keys. TBH, it really doesn't sound like you know what you're taking about, because you're taking this completely out of context.

you purchase a USB to PS/2 adapter, PS/2 has unlimited keystrokes, it's not just about how many keys you can push it's about speed too. Logitech, Razer and Saitek is safe to say the three biggest companies that supply gamers with keyboards you know which one I would give my money to? Saitek because they don't market tactile response and their keyboards are less expensive. nothing can beat the speed of a mechanical keyboard end of story friend you don't want to insult my Das Keyboard you may hurt W1z feelings or at the very least Vince the ShamWow guy :)

That's a matter of your opinion. Keyboards are a lot more than what the advertise. You're exploiting one aspect of Logitech and Razer and condemning them for it. As I said earlier, Logitech keyboards are pricier because of the company that is behind them. The information you have told me because you "know what [you're] talking about" has not backed your statement that "Logitech keyboards are a joke." Don't make misleading statements, because there are a lot of members and guests of this forum that come here for advice, and you are steering them down the wrong path.

And to your edit, I'm not insulting anything. You're the one that's insulting Logitech's keyboards.

Again, there are VERY few people who would realistically buy a mechanical keyboard like a Das keyboard. Do not say that a manufacturer's keyboards are a joke when you have no reason to call them that. Express your opinion, but do so with your reasons so people can make informed decisions.

no reason I have every reason. this Logitech Deluxe Keyboard that retails at $8.99 USD has the same number of keystrokes and speed as the $199 Logitech G19 the one underneath it the Logitech Value Keyboard for $6.99 is probably better because it comes as PS/2 the build quality of Mechanical Keyboards is uncanny as well with thermoplastic key caps, laser etched, gold platted connectors, premium switches, etc. they are built to take a beating and hey if you like your little G Keys I got you covered the Gigabyte GK-K8000 Mechanical Keyboard. and I am not steering them down the wrong path I am educating them.

You wouldn't have educated them if I didn't challenge you...that's my point. Explain yourself. You would have been much more helpful if you stated that Logitech keyboards are overpriced for what they give you because you believe mechanical keyboards to be far superior for these reasons: etc.

I really don't think your tone is helpful either: "if you like your little G Keys." I never once used the G keys on my G15. I wanted it for the fact that it was backlit, which is why I tried the Lycosa, then found the Illuminated keyboard. If I may offer you a suggestion, when you post to a public forum, try to write like you're speaking to somebody who you're trying to help, not trying to talk down to.

oh i'm sorry the G19 actually uses rubber instead of plastic dome switches oh my god somebody call the keyboard police they are bending the laws of english :D

they have some knowledge it's up to them if they want to use it I didn't put a gun to anybody's head and I am not wrong.

some other Mechanical Keyboards: ABS M1 (ALPS Black), iOne Scorpius M10 (Cherry MX Blue), Gigabyte GK-K8000 (Cherry MX Black), Das Ultimate Keyboard (Cherry MX Blue), SteelSeries 6G/7G (Cherry MX Black) Filco Majestouch (Cherry MX Brown and Cherry MX Black) and Deck Legend (Cherry MX Black)

here is some Logitech Build Quality for you. look at this guys worklog for his G15 it's a thread on the G15Forums about the paint coming off the keys.

Hack alternatives I've been mulling over in my mind include:
1) matte epoxy clear coat (probably need about 10 coats)
2) resin dip (liquid plastic as found in hardware store; "1 coat = 50 coats of clear urethane") -- obviously, it would need to be compatible with the stock paint. Drawback is AFAIK this is not available in matte clear.
3) thermoplastic vac-formed cover for each key (tho the stock paint might not hold up to the temps required). Drawback is AFAIK most appropriate plastics result in gloss finish.
I suppose you could spray matte clear over the much tougher gloss protective layer for process 2 or 3 and repeat the matte coat every year or so when it wears down to the gloss.

oh only if they were laser etched.

my reasoning is to make sure people stop and think before they spend $80-200 on a Logitech or Razer keyboard, brand name should not justify that kind of markup. the G Keys are often used in a debate or should I say argument with the G15, my mouse has profiles that I don't use so why would I use G Keys if I need extra keys I have a unused keypad to the right of me I also have a "on the fly, always rush" style of gameplay so I can't afford to take my left hand off the W,S,A,D keys I used to think the build cost of the G15 revolved around the LCD until someone told me they were very inexpensive. The Razer Lycosa is a little better it has shorter key caps like a laptop so when your hands are resting it has less travel time to the switch it also has a non-slip rubber texture but is plagued with build quality issues regardless both of these keyboards have a long way to go.

Mechanical Keyboards are not perfect they have a price tag but the performance totally justifies it and they are loud depending on the type of switch and person because like fans after a while the noise will not even phase you. here you can see and hear some models I listed above.

I stand correct Logitech and Razer are a joke.

thats it i'm done.
