A week after the .org's 5th aniversary, the 2nd major iteration of the productivity suite has been released. OpenOffice.org is an open source, free suite of office programs that support open, vendor independent file formats as well as Microsoft's Office formats. There is also .PDF export feature. Here's a shallow analogy because analogies are fun: Firefox:Internet Explorer :: OpenOffice.org:Microsoft Office.

It's available for Linux (101 MB) and Windows (75 MB) off their official BitTorrent tracker or from their mirrors.
