Hello guys, I want to overclock the BCLK of my I7-6700, even though its a non K. My BIOS is too old (Its a lenovo BIOS, latest one is around 2018) to overclock the BCLK. I dont know what else to do. Ive tried using QuickCPU and Throttlestop but ive only managed to push my CPU up to 4.01ghz on turbo mode, not while gaming, on low usage. What else can I do?

If you cannot raise BCLK in bios, then you won't find any software capable unfortunately. Not all of their gaming laptops support CPU overclocking.

Yeah i just updated my BIOS, its now July 5 2022 and still no other option. Ive seen people increase the BCLK on the i7-6700 before, but for some reason when they do it i cant because options wont show up for me.

Upload the bios here. I'll have a look at it.

alrighty o. heres the bios i downloaded from the website. it looks very old and outdated.

my motherboard is like an Intel Z470
That's the windows installer. I just need the .bin or .rom file only.

it didnt include one. I just used the installer.
Use CPU-Z. On the bottom, click tools, next click save bios, next upload here.

I am going to see if there is a hidden option for BCLK (most time's there is not) and unlock it. If there are other features that look interesting to unlock, like rebar, I'll see if it'll let me.

And of course a disclaimer (if I can successfully do this) that I am not responsible if you brick the laptop. You would need to use a programmer with the original file to recover the bios from a bad flash otherwise.

NVM, I found what I needed.

There is nothing to unlock to have visual concerning BCLK overclocking. Everything in this stock bios is already unlocked and visible. There's nothing I can really do with this, unfotrunately.

Maybe could we try flashing a different bios into the pc with some tweaks to possibly make it compatible and allow it? Probably stupid but is that possible?

Or, we could make a script, file and so forth that allows overclocking? Idk if that’s possible

The problem is modern UEFI bios is encrypted. So modding is not so straight forward to add features that are not there.

Cross flashing might be possible, but you need a programmer to force the bios to the chip because the leveno software won't do it.

I'm afraid there's not much to do.

Could we try cross flashing with a programmer? I’d want to try even if it doesn’t work

That's all entirely up to you sir. Programmers are cheap and a lot of guides out there.

The hardest part is finding a leveno bios that has bclk features that uses nearly the exact same motherboard.
