Hello. I am trying to OC and get the most out of my ROG Astral 5080.
Recently, asus released a vbios update that allows for up to 450w power draw. This translates to an ability to set the power target in GPU Tweak 3 to 112%.
I have made this configuration, and confirmed it's being picked up with gpu-z. I also have the latest nvidia drivers, and latest version of gpu tweak 3.
I am seeing a problem running furmark, as well as any game I play when I'm monitoring power usage, where it seems the gpu is being limited at roughly 300w.
Interestingly, 300w was the tdp of my last gpu (4070Ti ventus oc). So I assumed it was a driver issue. I ran DDU in safe mode, then did a clean install of the latest nvidia driver. This still hasn't resolved the issue.
I also played with the nvidia control panel settings to ensure I wasn't being limited by vsync, and that the power settings prioritize performance.
Additionally, I ran cmd in admin mode and ran "nvidia-smi --reset-gpu-clocks" and "nvidia-smi --reset-memory-clocks", but this had no impact either.
Still have the same issue where the gpu believes the tdp is much lower than 450w/ won't consume more than 300ish watts.
Attaching screenshots of my configurations and what I'm seeing. Anyone have any tips/idea on what's going on?
Thanks
