I am just at the study phase and reading
  • Get on the Air with HF digital, 3rd edition, by Steve Ford
  • Ham and shortwave Radio for the Electronics hobbyist, by Stan Gibilisco
and was hoping to hear from someone who had taken it further.

Ahh ! The most I ever done is played around with gnuradio and written a decoder for FSK, PSK and QPSK signals. I used I/Q data someone else recorded, but you can easily get some with RTL-SDR receiver - they are a lot of fun.

Unfortunately don't remember much about it other than I wrote some SW on an Amiga 500 for a short time to act as a relay otherwise I would be happy to share. Wish you fun though with the project.
