The Palit GeForce RTX 4060 Dual is priced at NVIDIA's MSRP and offers a good 1080p gaming experience at maximum details settings. With GeForce 40, NVIDIA is introducing support for DLSS 3, which can significantly improve your FPS with minimal impact to power consumption and heat output.

Cyberpunk as a game of choice seems to skew the results of efficiency calculations. Not sure which way in this case but the performance results in Cyberpunk are often, if not usually, not in line with the overall performance standing.

Cyberpunk as a game of choice
If you had to pick a single game, what would you choose?

Must not be CPU limited at 4K with 4090 and above, must be well-supported in drivers, so that the losing people can't make the "but drivers" argument. Should also be popular enough. Maybe Hogwarts, not sure if that will yield significantly different results, except for taking an eternity to test because of shader compile every time, and I'd have to retest power for 40 cards

Unfortunately, this Mid-Range Gen is expensive and the performance gains are very low.

Oof when W1zzard tells you to get a console instead of the graphics card in the review :D

I think CP2077 is a fine choice. It also includes all the latest bells and whistles, which means it actually puts almost all the hardware to work.

I honestly don't know if there is a better one. Hogwarts seems like it would be a good choice technically - the results, relatively decent in terms of stability by now and will be played-supported for a while. Eternity to test is a huge downside though. Also, "but Unreal Engine" would probably be the argument, regardless of results :D

It was just an observation that the results seem to not match up very nicely :)

hand is saving some money by making a smaller connector with fewer traces

That's not correct. You pay for the whole etched size, cut outs don't matter.

Cyberpunk as a game of choice seems to skew the results of efficiency calculations.
Um, what?!?
Not sure which way in this case but the performance results in Cyberpunk are often, if not usually, not in line with the overall performance standing.
Did you actually READ those benchmark results? Hogwarts Legacy? The Callisto Protocol? Skewed results what? Seriously? Whatever logic you used to make that comment needs serious revision. Or are you just another one of those lame CyberPunk2077 haters? Think that over for a few moments...

Either way, the flaw in thinking is not with the author of this article!

I think CP2077 is a fine choice. It also includes all the latest bells and whistles, which means it actually puts almost all the hardware to work.
Exactly! CP2077 is the Crysis of the modern age of PC's.

@W1zzard
Out of curiosity, why was Control removed from the benchmark line up? It was present in the 4060ti testing reviews. It seems to still be an excellent title to benchmark as it is still a very taxing title. Not seeing it struck me as a bit weird.

Just because your favorite brand isn't winning doesn't mean it's wrong... Cyberpunk is a game that lots of people still play so it makes an excellent data point.

The performance and power consumption figures from Cyberpunk are somewhat unique and often not in line with other games or the overall summary. That was my entire point.

And? How is CP2077 any different from the others I mentioned? (Short answer, they are not.)

Your point wasn't one. It seemed very much like blatant CP2077/CDPR bashing. I should know, I do the same to microsoft all the time. But you see the difference is that microsoft deserves the bashing they get from me and others. CyberPunk2077/CDPR does not.

What's a point to compare price of new card and outdated used? I mean used would be always a winner in those situation, because it simply cost much less, otherwise no one would buy it and such comparison not fair.

Don't like the shortened PCI-Express connector: looks like a sound card with fancy cooling. :shadedshu:

Yeah, that's the problem with this card

How is the power draw measured? I looked the setup page and still have no idea.

From "Power Consumption" page:
"All power consumption numbers reported on this page are "card only" values measured via the PCI Express power connector(s) and PCI Express bus slot. Everything is measured on the DC side, it's not the power consumption of the whole system. We conduct a physical measurement using professional lab equipment, the values are not software sensor readings, which are much less accurate."

I suppose the media playback is measured just like that, but what kind of media is being played? Youtube or some fancy blu rays? Does it matter? Let me ask you one last question, if I am in a need of a gpu and the efficiency I am looking for is the one at idle and media playback (youtube basically) rather than AAA gaming(it should run AoE4 flawlessly though), what would you recommend from:
6600
6650
7600
3050
4060
A580
A750?
I know that TPU has 6600 and 7600 measured higher in consumption (20-25W) than 4060 (which is still higher than those in idle) and that the ARCs are damn prohibitive. Can any of those Radeons and Nvidia be brought to even lesser numbers by undervolting?
Thank you.

There is no point to look at idle and media playback numbers because all modern cards would consume very little energy at those modes compared to gaming, the more important thing is good cooling, which let them stay cool under those conditions and without need to spin fan at all, until gaming session happens. So from your list I would say the best choice would be 4060 from asus/giga/msi with decent cooler, like strix/tuf/gaming series. If you want you could adjust power limit or reduce voltage to cut power consumption and heat under load even more.

Hell, if you want to play video and sip power, just use the IGP.
