PC reboots under GPU stress test and videogames

Hi,

Recently i built my new PC with the following specs:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 5600xt Black Edition
Mobo: Gigabyt B550m ds3h
PSU: Seasonic 550w
RAM: 2x8gb Viper Patriot 3600mhz cl17

The PC reboots (no blue screen) when I try to stress the GPU in Furmark and Unigine Heaven after a minute of doing the tests. The temps right before rebooting are like 58 degrees.
Also, after a few minutes of playing Red Dead Redemption 2 the PC restarts when the gpu is fully loaded. And if i press multiple times alt+tab while i am in the game. For example if I play CS:GO nothing happens, everything is alright.

I did the test on CPU as well using AIDA 64 and after 15 minutes of stressing it the temps are like 80 degrees running at @4.55Ghz.

I googled the problem and most of the times it was the PSU for not faulty or the GPU . I wanted a second opinion from you guys regarding this problem.

Thanks

Definitely the PSU...please check again with a higher rated one..
Had similar experience with my system while running american truck simulator..changed my psu and there was no more restarts during gaming..

Also check your processor heatsink mounting and thermal paste application..

I agree with @Jose Jeswin that the issue could lie with the PSU, though I find it odd that 550W should be able to power your rig just fine. Perhaps it's faulty.
Can you perhaps take a photo shot of your PSU's label as well as the connector to the mobo & GPU? Could also be improper plugging of connectors.

Before you start spending more money I would suggest to reverse any kind of overclocking (CPU, RAM, GPU) and test again extensively. Temps may be ok but that is not an indication of stability.

Also it could just be your RAM. Compatibility issues...
3600MHz CL17? what model is that?

EDIT: typo

If it was the RAM I suspect CSGO would also error out.
also no BSOD. my RAM BSODs usually comes with BSOD with useless error messages, but he did say no BSOD.
@AlexPPT you should also post your PSU models, stickers, anything so the PSU fiends can take a crack at it. (still, the cheapest S12III-550 should power this no problem, you got a friend to borrow a PSU from?)

Don't use the power virus Furmark, and try different Ram (with an even Cas Latency).

You can try to set power target of you GPU lower ( i would say start at 50% ) and see if your system still reboots , if not go higher till your system reboots again , that will mostly indicate a power supply failure.
You can also lower your GPU core / vram and see if that will fix the problem. Also you should change the power cable to the GPU and/or move it on another port in the PSU.

You should try what i told you , maybe your RX 5600xt Black Edition is eating too much power , thow it shouldnt or just switch to "silent BIOS" and see if the problem is gone.

the rx 6900 xt may be tricking that seasonic OCP (that unit uses the focus plus/gx platform)

in fact @freeagent just posted a minute ago he had a similar issue with his GX PSU

Look here

My GX750 had a real hard time driving my rig at full load with F@H while using my 5900X. I was seeing 650w at the wall and the PSU would trip, and I would have to flip the switch. It is running fine in my second rig. I was forced to buy a 750w G+ when I bought my GPU, and it can handle the same task for weeks on end with no troubles. My 3070 Ti can do 325w on the core, and 290w board power.

He’s saying your psu is tripping because the system is pulling to much power

Well it's weird a 55w GX750 was tripping a 650w power supply

the post itself won't help as much as freeagent himself going into detail about his experience plus his mod ability allows him to lurk in threads anywhere and everywhere

Sorry, I still don't quite understand. What is the problem? Is there a solution?
the overcurrent protection may* be tripped by your higher power needs. The solution would be to contact Asus customer service directly assuming that is the actual problem (I would guess it is but the hardware is not in front of me to play around with and test).

*you would need to test the PSU properly to find out but it has been an issue brought up on that particular platform across many threads both on this site and other tech sites
