my phenom II x4 810 is default 2.6 ghz with 200 fsb and a locked multiplyer of 13

i overclocked it a few days ago to 3.0 ghz with 231 fsb and 13 multiplyer. i ran prime 95 this morning from 6:30am to 6:30pm without a crash. so i was wondering if that was enough prime 95 or should i let it go for longer.

also when it comes to amd, BE models are what you want if overclockings in mind. this means that the multi is unlocked and therefore you can overclock the cpu without overclocking the fsb/ram.

if the 810 is anything like my 940BE, id say the cpu should be able to handle 3.2 -3.4Ghz no problem as long as temps are ok....but if the multi is locked then i'd suspect your ram will be what tops out before the cpu, so you may need to relax ram timings and/or run a memory divider to make the ram stretch to higher mhz...also, the cpu-nb needs to be kept in check. if this is raised too high without the correct voltages your pc will not post.

Could you list full specs of hardware inc mobo, ram and whether or not the cpu has aftermarket cooling? this would give us a better indication of what your hardware is capable of :)

my 810 is at 250HTT with default 13 multi and extra 2MB cache unlocked. Thats the sweet spot I found, anything more than that needs more voltage and thus more heat. 3.25Ghz is more than enough for gaming.

Try intel burn test as well... I had an overclock recently that did 16 hours of prime stable, then when I tested it under IBT failed in 4 minutes.
