General things

For example, I don't like the fact that some ATI manufacturers strip off the "Radeon" part of the name.

Also that some news, people etc... now ignores the fact that ATI is still a brand and a trademark thus they name it like "AMD Radeon ..."

But I like those babes on the sapphire cards :D

i perfer sapphire, the cards look awesome and they are usually a bit more expensive then powercolor but have massive clock differences, also sapphire has some really good support, you can submit a problem and it will be responded to within a hour usually.

I like ASUS and HIS the most. If I can't get an ASUS at a decent price I always grab HIS!

One thing is certain though, there's harder to get any other than sapphire in my country ... you can theoretically, but cause many stores has sapphire they make a good price battles and price goes down even further.

I found Sapphire to be a reliable brand. Took three years of almost daily tortue to bring down my X800 pro. And that card was quite powerful, too. Suprisingly powerful I might add.
HIS have their IceQ Coolers, they are pretty cool. Other than that, I find them nothing special.
Currently I'm using Gainward cards, their Golden Sample editions are factory overclocked, but you can push them even higher. Also their cooling solutions are quite nice and perform well.

One major thing: I want more blue PCBs:D

Well that depends, personally I like red cause ATI brand is red hehe, well actually that's a color of previous XT mark ; but what I mean is, I seen it was used as a revision mark;;
When I purchased over the web a Sapphire radeon HD4870 , it was red on the picture(and the pic was claimed as for example only) ... so I got the blue one.
But I managed to get the red one in the shop. The main point here, but coincidentally, the second revision/blue one had a way weaker cooler.

That may not be same for other manufs afaik as seen blue ones quite some.

I don't like how most 4850's are sold with blue PCB's as they have less overclocking potential... damn you sapphire!

So actually , a blue should be the color for the better cards/OC/turbo editions:D

That's really their choice, but makes sense ,for example like blue laser from blueray being better than a red laser...

Yeah well the red cards don't match my black/blue/silver ambience :p

Ok, that's an other thing then:toast:

I have to vote ASUS since they just took my money.
I really liked the old ATI no second party name on them cards.
I am so happy it is RED RED RED as well I really like the ATI red!

I just bought this (EAH4870 DK TOP/HTDI/512MD5) one should be here tomorrow. I am not a ASUS fan at least not for motherboards. I hope my luck with their video card is better.

I will say as I shopped warranty was a part of my decision. I figured 3 years and I'm looking for a new card so that's about as good as lifetime for me. I wish they all had that much confidence in their cards. ;) Anyway $134.99 vs $214.99 to get a lifetime wasn't worth it to me. Plus I hear this card is one of the best on factory cooling and the Qimonda, model IDGV51-05A1F1C-40 memory chips that are not on any of the other 4870s that I could find. If this is true and they do as I have seen in reviews ASUS will be my friend a while.

I had a MSI X800 worked great for about 1 1/2 yrs then died. R.I.P. (She was a goodn)
ATI 9800XT was a killer card and is still running today.
ATI 9600 Pro still running today
ATI 1950XTX Master and a ATI brand 1950XTX standard card in X-Fire still gaming today.
I liked the cards that came strait from ATI I had good luck with them.

I remember my friends when we were younger but very well familiar with PCs too, one got the 9800Pro ...those were kicking butt at the time, and the guy who was really a gaming freak, when he was about to get a new one, burned this one with 2 far cry instances running lol.

He later admitted that he didn't want to burn it intentionally and added "it served very well"

Most of which were actually made by Sapphire or Visiontek I think Diamond got in on that for a bit too.

Anyways..

Always had great luck with MSI, Visiontek, Sapphire, Asus.

Never had an HIS or XFX, but I highly doubt I would hesitate to buy either one.

XpertVision id stay away from as i have had two bad cards from them, both 4850's and both was faulty with in 2weeks. Went back to HIS and never had a problem, as the 3850 im using now is a HIS and has run perfect from day one.

Palit seems to be ok, had a 1GB 4850 and it ran fantastic as well.

HIS/Palit is a yes

XpertVision a BIG NO

Id like to try out Gainward as my next card, i hear there good, and have not many issues?

I still have an ATi Radeon 9800Pro that I bought brand new running in the wifes PC...still works great and can still run plenty of games very well. One of my favorite cards ever !
The ASUS I'm currently using in my system for the last 8 mos. has performed really well. It does have a stock cooler on it and with the fan speed adjustment, keeps the temps very low....very pleased with ASUS. And it does have a sticker that does say RADEON on the side, along with the graphic of a very pretty Ninja girl covering the cooler shroud....:) ....I need to add a 2nd one !

The old PC I had a year ago , with a 9600XT and it lasted for 5 years, still have that machine in the garage. Probably still works.

I agree about Sapphire, My 4870 512MB despite not being the #1 card in the 4870 lineup is still a cool looking card, instead of the red reference cooler you get a sleek black cooler that actually has working heatpipes. How many of the other partners have a heatpiped cooler on what is basically a "budget" card, or even on their Top-of the line cards for that matter?

We don't see sapphire cards easily in Pakistan. So we have limited choice about ATI cards. XFX, HIS, Force3d. My experience with force3d was not very good so I moved to HIS ICEQ4 extreme. And HIS is for me the best card I got after XFX.

I forgot I had one of those Diamond x1950 Pro as well. I didn't like the card much but it is running still in my brothers pc today with no issues. It just seemed cheap (build quality) for some reason cant really remember why I felt that way but its what I remember.
