Anyone who knows the difference between this two standards EPS 2.91 vs EPS 2.92, and is there a higher standard, what does it help with?

Hi

This -
SSI EPS.jpg

as this is an ongoing specification it seems logical that a new version will come into play, I have seen v_2.93 mooted on the www however have not been able to locate a white paper on this standard.

Maybe another member of the TPU community can confirm EPS v_2.93

atb (all the best)

Still floating, please explain, I have read the info but its not sinking in.... what i understand according to the document 2.92 is more beneficial to 850W and above is it?

yes only for 850w or more, it's a minor difference, just tell us which PSU you are looking at. brand is far more important than what standard it uses just because how much the quality can vary

just tell us which PSU you are looking at.

I'm looking at Seasonic X-660 660W and Super Flower SF-700P14XE 700W

I like the Seasonic X-660W more coz i would love a fully modular, and i currently have a FSP Everest 600W which still works and its partly modular, so i just wanted to replace it with another PSU then i keep it as a spare PSU.

There are others but i like the Seasonic X-660 and it is EPS 2.91
The Super Flower SF-700P14XE is EPS 2.92

That's why i started the thread.

I've built two machines recently using Seasonic PSUs, including my own, and power has never been an issue. I have the 1kw 80 plus gold for my SB-E rig which hasn't skipped a beat, makes no noise, and the runs really cool even under load. I've also used the 550-watt (it could have been the 660, but I don't think it is,) on a 2600k machine and it too runs cool, makes no noise, and hasn't skipped a beat. I can't speak for its longevity since I've only had mine for a few months and the other rig has only been around for a little over half a year, but I've heard mostly good things about them and so far they've delivered.

So according to what you've said, the Seasonic appears to be a solid brand. Plus i selected it coz i want a silent PSU, My FSP Everest 600W is silent but i got used to it so its not that silent i want something more silent and i think the Seasonic X-660 will do.

Seasonic is a very good brand and they have great full modular psu's, I think they are Corsairs OEM.

That is the conclusion that I came to. My 1000-watt 80-plus platinum barely makes any heat and the fan barely has to come on, even under full load. Can't ask for anything better than that. :toast:
