I bought a PS2 from my local market for £10 sold as seen i bought one of these PS2 to HDMI Adapters
the one he recommends as you can see the black screen; Is there anyone using it with a PC Monitor?I don,t know weather the console is working properly. If it was surely i should get something on the screen? It is pretty noise y.I don,t have a TV so can,t try it on one.I have not seen any videos of people using it with a PC Monitor o_O I will have to get another one off eBAY ,and if this is not going to work take it apart and see what i can fo with it.It will be a daunting task but if it has to be done i will.

You dont press start. Input just as you have written down.

Honestly its best to use a standard yellow rca cable on a tv(roku tv has them) that has the input to know what you are working with. Then from there you know for sure if its working or not.

I can,t seem to change any settings on the Monitor.Of course the PS3 has an HDMI connection.I don,t have one are you saying it would work on the ps2 thru one of the USB 1 slots on it?

usb is for powering the hdmi adapter only no data just power. ps2 doesnt give enough power sometimes on usb port, so I use a usb charger for power.

ps2 is analog out only

this ebay adapter is for converting a digital signal like a ps3 to analog (rca jack). From what I know about ps3 has it both analog out via the oldschool port like a ps2 has and digital out hdmi

I repaired/refurbed many ps2. Lasers used to be (and are still)cheap for the slim and fat models and pretty simple to replace. Once you are familiar with repairing them. They have videos on youtube can help you down the road.

Yes i have seen them.they look a bit daunting to a novice like me.Which one do you prefer Fat or Slim? o_O For repairing i should think slim, and Fat for the better one of the two.

The fat model supports hard drive with a network adapter. They have aftermarket models which have sata support. Original adapter models have ide which you can buy a sata mod or just get aftermarket kind.

Anyways you can dump games to drive and boot and play without disc, but only on fat model you have this. The slim models some are good but many limitations with modding them and such.

Look up open ps2 loader and watch some vids to get an idea.

Dunno if related, but when I've had this issue w/ a 360 (years ago), it was the HDTV at fault.
The HDTV did not support HDCP correctly, and was apparently not 100% EDID compatible
(The HDMI on the TV refused to work w/ a PC, period. DVI, native-HDMI, DP, didn't matter; no PC signal would 'handshake' on that Sceptre X42GV-NAGA)

Regardless of which device is 'at fault', I'd assume the analog-digital HDMI adapter and your display device are not 'handshaking'. Since my issue (a decade ago), I've ran across a pin-tapeover trick to attempt circumventing the problem.
found it: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=224196

(side note: those 'cheapie' analog-digital adapters of all flavors have an exceedingly high failure rate. Decent chance the adapter you got is simply 'bad)

The thing is i don,t know weather the PS2 works or not anyway. And as i don,t have a TV rhere is no way to find out.It does come out showing about the reserlution when i put a disk un the ps2 sometimes but it is not the normal one when the monitor says there is no sigmal. This is the one i got when i had a disk in the drive.

I think I saw mentioned already to use component or composite connections for testing. (as the PS2 is natively an analog-output device.)
Most HDTVs do have composite inputs, even if they scale terribly. It's only for testing.
If you're questioning the reliability of your on-hand A/V cables, I'd recommend a trip to your local thrift store/goodwill or eBay. Also, while not always 'the highest quality' most of the "multi-system" A/V cables you'll find at 'game shops' and thrift stores alike, will at least 'work'.
If looking @ a used set, avoid any w/ clear signs of excessive bending, pet/child damage, and/or fraying wires/connections.

That cabal i showed earlier does work it is just that plastic bits at the end of them some how fell off o_O I have managed to get them back in but as you can see a bit inside of the plastic bits must have broken off o_O I was trying to put them on wrong, silly meo_OI will have to put some tape on to hold it together.

I had to put tape around it to keep it together. o_OThat want coming off now, It does not look good with that connecter.
. :( Goof job it only cost £4.50. From watching youtube videos I did know that adapter will give a worse signal than the one that does not work on my PS2.

I have it all sorted well just to see if it works with that adapter anyway. As regards cabal I always check them.

If you want to play PS1 games and they black screen, I recommend using FMCB and forcing a resolution then loading the PS1 game, works on my HDMI PS2 slim.
