hi there,
i got pc from my workplace..
the spec quite low. lenovo thinkcentre v530-15icb with 180w psu.
it fitted with i7 9700, 32gb ram, 1 hdd, 1 nvme drive.
planned to put graphic card there.. for some light gaming.
salvaged p2200 (75w) from another pc..

can i put the vga directly to the pc?
i know the i7 tdp are 65w. but it spiked to 130w in cpuz stress test (measured by coretemp)
adding to the graphic card power, its more than psu can handle.

i m thinking to add sfx psu with 10pin adapter, but this type of adapter will make the psu always on.
any known information about pinout and signal level of the 10pin psu?

If you are wanting to install a larger power supply, you can purchase one of these:

That's of course an Amazon US link.

I did a very similar thing with a Dell server a few years ago. Worked great.

lenovo adapter are different with dell adapter. with dell, you add boost converter in 5vsb rail. other signal (ps_on, pg) are standart. lenovo adapter put jumper on ps_on to ground permanently, losing ability to power down from mainboard. ps_on signalling are different. that is the question in the first place..

Sorry, was just trying to help.
I won't bother with you any longer, even though the adapter that I linked is for a Lenovo.

i understand the adapter is for lenovo. but by the way it works, it wont be able to power down from the mainboard. that is different from dell adapter that will work flawlessly with adapter. thx for the reply.
