So one of my goals to finish the SR-2 build is to make the cables pretty, except the PSU doesn't quite reach all the way up. I'm aiming for black/red extensions to fit the theme but my issue is, is it all just plug n' play? Do I need something special with the Raidmax RX-1000AE? Is there a certain site to go for on cables?

Checked there, didn't seem to have the exact ones I was looking for. There was one site that has a pack that includes everything I need in a $50 baggy however I'm not sure if it'll be fine.

Are you gonna sleeve yourself or buy extensions ? PSU Manufacturers don't exactly follow the same wiring schemes ... might have teo 8 pin ends coming from the same single PSU so new cables requires some study. Extensions are much easier.

Either way, if you want the best, go see Lutr0 at mainframe customs.

Lutr0 Sleeving Guides

For extensions ....

I have seen many shops that use thin wire to make the sleeving easier

Tho you prolly are aware, they have RGB cables now

My son used these guys .... he wasn't happy.

I'd assume if it was ran 1 to 1 between the connectors, it would be all good right?

Not sure about that, in theory yes. i know corsair have type 3 and type 4 which iirc are not compatible on the 24 pin.

Any clues for Raidmax? I already had an adventure with Corsair cables that led to three dead drives and I'm just cautious for the board.

What i would do is find somewhere that can supply the cables for your specific PSU, but get a email off them confirming the cables WILL work with it, and hold them responsible for any dames if they do not. If not have a go at making your own maybe

Thermaltake sells some nice kits. Have used them, no complaints, and they come with combs.

They are extensions, does not matter as to what PSU they are connected to. Corsair kits sure, as they replace the stock cables, extensions do not, they connect to the default cables.
