Radeon 290 Lock-ups and Shut Downs - VRM Overtemp?

OK, I've got a SigmaCool bracket installed on an AMD 290.
http://keplerdynamics.com/sigmacool/
The temps never go over 65C with my fan on low (45C on higher settings). I have heatsinks on the VRAM, but nothing on the VRM. I have a Noctua 140mm fan installed in the side of my case blowing on the card.
However, I keep getting shut downs during gaming.
I've tried running GPU-Z to see if I could nail down the issue.
The last time my PC shut down core temps are fine (61C). However VRM Sensor 1 was reporting temps of 102C! VRM Sensor 2 reported 60C.
There is no sensor for the VRAM, but the heatsinks get hot to the touch.
Does anyone know which sensor is 1 and which is 2?
Will theses copper heatsinks for the VRM help?

Thanks

You really need sinks on the VRM's Mine run quite warm on my 290x (80C)under load even with a full cover block. VRM1 is the core (the long row of vrm's) VRM2 is memory.

Do you still have the stock cooler?

See if you can get the underplate on the card with the Sigma Cool adapter.

Like this but on a different card:

Yes, you need to actively cool the VRM's (not VRAM). Those enzotech sinks should help. Also, make sure you have airflow over them.

Thanks for the replies. I rigged a fan inside the case to blow on the VRMs and they stay around 85C. The enzotechs should come in later this week.
On that subject, do I need to put heatsinks on every piece in that row, or just the larger ones?
