recently i acquired these modules (goodram IRDM PRO CRIMSON WHITE DIMM Kit 32GB, DDR4-3600, CL18-22-22, retail (IRP-C3600D4V64L18/32GDC)) as an upgrade from 2x8gb 16gb single rank to 2x16gb 32gb dual rank.
now i wanted to tune the memory manually with ryzen dram calc in the bios as i used to with many other sticks before but this time i would be unable to get the ram to boot whatever i tried and i dont know why.
ive heard before dual rank are worse to tune than single rank but these wont work at all.
as far as i understand these modules have hynix chips but which ones (mfr, afr, cjr, djr) i cant clearly tell.
first i went into thaiphoon burner and extracted the complete html record with timings in nanoseconds and loaded it into ryzen dram calc which is also attached in the thread (complete html reports with clock cycles, nanoseconds and zen timings debug report).
calculated a manual safe profile with hynix cjr @ 3600 and entered it into the bios but the the pc wouldnt post and reset the bios.
ive tried several different profiles with several different speeds and modules for fast and safe but nothing would work, what i didnt try was tcke 0 or higher trfc values.
usually i could run all the sticks i got previously with either 3200 cl14 or 3600 cl16 but these wont work at all.
it almost feels like the manufacturer is prohibiting manual timings completely yet the ram boots in default of course even without an xmp profile.
what ive also noticed is that the xmp profile in this module but also others contains "false information" - that is theres information in the xmp profile that does not get actually applied but instead seemingly other random values are entered.
for example, in this xmp profile trfc1, trfc2 and trfc4 show 350, 260 and 160ns, but in reality the actual readout with zen timings / ryzen master shows values of 630, 468 and 288.
second the trc value deviates too, xmp profile says 64 but actual value is 84.
further i noticed that with this ram tcke has value of 0 yet ryzen dram calc always gives me a 1.
so some values are taken from the xmp profile while other values seem to be taken randomly or from somewhere else.
does anyone have an idea how i can get this to work with tuned timings? any suggestions on manual timings / settings?
