Add Recycle Bin in Windows 10 to the file explorer

Screenshot 2021-07-12 093409.png

Press Win + R enter regedit and start it

Or type regedit in the taskbar search and run it

To the path:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}

If the entry {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} does not exist, then right click on CLSID / New / Key and enter as name.

In the right panel create a right-click New DWORD value 32-bit with the name System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree

Double click this new entry and set it to 1.

Now restart Explorer.exe and/or restart PC and the Recycle Bin will be displayed in the File Explorer side panel.

Its for ppl, like me , which do not like any pointless symbols on the desktop. Quite handy and unobstrusive. I renamed it with just a SPACE aswell.

:rockout: ez!

Does it remove it from desktop at the same time?

Edit, sussed it. Did not have to restart either.

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't understand the reason for this. "Delete" is already a right-click context menu option from which can delete individual or multiple highlighted files and folders. And of course, there's the big red X option available at the top of file explorer when in folders where you have the option to Delete (send something to the Recycle Bin) or permanently Delete.

Also, if you right-click on "Quick access" (Schnellzugriff in your case) > Options > View, then scroll down near the bottom to Navigation pane and check "Show all folders", the Recycle Bin appears in the left sidebar. No need to edit the Registry.

u have several options for the bin:
startingpoint is the desktop symbol__ if u deactivate it and u want to empty the bin or restore a file; what u gonna do?

  • just leave it where it was before
  • create shortcuts and place them on every drive
  • pin it to the startmenu
  • swap back and go to first folder in explorer

none of them are in my personal interest. i do not work with folders related to quick access. never.

Also, if you right-click on "Quick access" (Schnellzugriff in your case) > Options > View, then scroll down near the bottom to Navigation pane and check "Show all folders", the Recycle Bin appears in the left sidebar.

not the windows i ran the past few years.

u can:
Pin recycle bin to quick access, ye

If you need the Recycle Bin more often, you can also pin it to the quick access in File Explorer.

If you have the recycle bin on the desktop, then simply open it and under the Start tab "Pin to Quick Access".

Otherwise

Open the File Explorer and under the tab View check the box "Hidden items".
Then go to C:\ $Recycle.Bin/ open recycle bin

tab Start and also here "Pin to Quick Access"

again:
its about customizing your software. nothing is essential!
my desktop looks like this:

say its peculiar. you can't always accommodate everyone's tastes or sense of necessity. sometimes things are just there to be the other way around.
i spoke to a moderator in the beginning to see if it was okay. and they told me to do it because it was welcome.

I was not questioning whether or not it was appropriate to post here. I am just wondering how this option is better or more worthwhile than the options already available to us. If your method works better for you, then great. For me, I'll stick with the right-click menu option, since its already there.
