Red Dead Redemption 2 Benchmarked!!!

So Hardware Unboxed and Gamers Nexus benchmarked Red Dead Redemtion 2 with most popular Nvidia and AMD GPU's and results are very intriguing.....

Looks like that AMD cards overall doing much better job in RDR2 as this game is working with Dx12&Vulkan....As we can see RX 580 is almost on par with GTX 1070&GTX 980 TI and OC Vega 56 is on par with (stocked)GTX 1080 TI!!!
Anyway IF any of you guys tried RDR2 feel free to share with us your impression about the game.....

Runs fine on a 1440P 60Hz, 1060 6GB, DX11 Win 7, no noticable drops, the game auto preset was to Ultra, it looked stunning but noticed some small latency so I changed to high, probably unnecessary. I had to grab the latest driver 441.12-desktop-win8-win7-64bit-international-whql, game wouldn't start without it.

I wouldn't read too much into any benchmarks right now because the game is just released, theres a lot of bugs, a lot of people are reporting crashes, and the drivers are still fresh for it and probably will have substantial driver support improvements to come.

After severel time finding out why it crashed, I found out that it whas my anti-virus killing the game under load to menu.

So only manage to play it for one hour. But my experience is that It runs just fine and stable, but the game is one serious gpu Hog. It really slaughters even powerful gpu's like my own gtx 1080 TI. I had to god down to balance in the lower end preset at 1080P to get above 60 fps most of the time. Even at lowest settings I got high fps but gpu whas stil at 97 % to 99 % load every time on low even with my old i7 980x. So my experience is that it is not so cpu demanding, but It kills even powerful gpu's.

Apparently his settings are a lot tougher on the cards, be it DX12 or Vulcan.

Thats odd because I had no issues, did you get the latest driver? I am on 1440P with the much lesser 1060 6GB. Could it be more of a DX12 thing?

Yeah I installed the latest nvidia driver even before attempting starting the game. I always update drivers before starting up a new game.

I dont know with dx12. I only had time to try out vulkan, as most of my evening goes with download and troubleshooting why it crashed until I found out anti-virus whas the culprit. And I don't have more time to test before it's weekend.

runs decent at 3440x1440 with high settings with far shadows at medium and particles at medium, and some settings at ultra (textures etc).

The game does look pretty amazing so I don't mind the fps hit. Plus everything is slow and mushy like an old spaghetti western so 90-60 FPS isnt the worst (i don't use AA typically).

Game does feel a bit easy in the "I don't think they meant this" kind of way with the mouse; like when you could wipe out whole gangs in gta with just a normal pistol.

That might very well be the thing here. GN's results are also way off, while that DX12 result for the 1080ti there looks like it gets hit badly.

GN Steve reports that they've managed to get their Ryzen 3xxx rig to launch the game by updating bios to AGESA 1.0.0.4 BIOS. If this really solves crashes on launch, rockstar did fantastic job doing their QA for this.

Maybe I am a bit premature as I dug more into the menus and starting fooling around with the in game benchmark. I can only select DX12 or Vulkan, with 7 cannot run DX12 so I am running Vulkan.
I don't know how to get DX11 on it. What I thought was running DX11 was actually Vulkan.

Working on tweaking it so I do 60FPS, right now 51 FPS average 130FPS peak 28FPS low at 1440P Ultra texture and the rest of the settings low and medium, with Vulkan.

Its a pity theres no DX11 option to atleast try it. I'll be doing Win10 in a month or two and that will give me 12 support.
