1. Asrock steel legend z690 lga1700

2. 64gb kit 4x 16gb Corsair Vengeance pro ddr4 3600 18-22-22-42)
3. Intel i7 alder lake 3.6 12700k
Took photo of psu etc.

All new from newegg.

So I built my daughter a gaming PC and while we are awaiting the gpu from China, I jumped the gun and fired it up using the onboard graphics via hdmi to my 4k TV.

Mobo goes through a phase of booting but no post / video output. Vga light eventually comes on after the other lights rotate briefly on the board.. Everything I see says it should boot using onboard video, processor supports it.

I've reseated memory and cpu,
Tried all memory combinations In dimm slots

Scratching my head..

Remove the CMOS battery with the PC unplugged from the wall and then re-installed it 30 minutes later.

The motherboard seems to be looking for a dGPU and might need a reset to run off igpu.

Also, I'm not sure what GPU you got for this system but that PSU only supports 480w on the 12v rail. 220w alone are going to the 12700K (more if you have multi-core enhancement on with for some MB it is). That leaves you less than 200w for the GPU. Something like the 3060 Ti would be the most you could do and even then that's pushing it.

Get a new PSU. That old klunker is doing you no favours, and could be the cause for your problems.

Other than that I second clearing CMOS. Also use just one stick of ram for now, until you can get it to post properly.

I appreciate the insight. I did not know it was that bottle necked. I will change asap. And it is a 3060ti FYI that's in the mail.
