I have decided to stick with what I have and maybe even overclock them, and see what the prices of both AMD and NVIDIA are priced at after Christmas. What is the easiest program to overlook with is it Sapphires own, Trixx.

I immediately thought of Black Friday sales. That's when you may find some wicked deals. In the meantime, I know you're not suffering with crossfire 290s.

I finally am getting the card dialed in. It's performing unreal guys! I am achieving way more performance at less clocks now at 1.250V. I think the black screen is caused by the VRM IR3565B, which has voltage, power, and current limits that shut down the gpu if they reach these tame limits. My GPU runs so cold it can handle more voltage. So far I haven't tested beyond 1.250V without LoadLinePSI set to 00 in the hex code to generate a solid 0 offset VDDC value. I also messed with the VRM settings, changing the the VDDCR Limit from 102, to 105 may allow from 1.25V stock with black screen beyond 1.25V, so 1.3V only possible with this new BIOS Grenada PRO 4GB R9 390 from XFX.

I personally modded this BIOS, for anyone who wants better performance try this out.

Result (3dmark.com)

Almost broke 15,000 points on 3dmark fire strike on stock voltage without LoadLinePSI / Offset VDDC at 1.250V at 1175mhz core 1250mhz memory stock timings fan profile on XFX R9 390 BIOS on my Gigabyte Windforce R9 290 4GB Elpida card.

------[ GPU PStates List ]------

DPM0: GPUClock = 300 MHz, VID = 0.90000 V
DPM1: GPUClock = 516 MHz, VID = 0.96200 V
DPM2: GPUClock = 1175 MHz, VID = 1.25000 V

Yes sir, I just thought some people would benefit from my findings. Only issue with r9 390 bios or r9 290 4gb elpida is memory errors. Advise to remain stock bios! Send it to me and I'll mod the BIOS.

It would be recommended to open a new thread.
I think many people will benefit from your findings, but make a new post.
