RTX 3080 Suprim uses 100W in idle mode

Hello.
I noticed that my MSI RTX 3080 SUPRIM X 10G video card in idle mode goes up to 60 degrees, and when I checked the consumption, I noticed that it uses 100w without playing or having anything open.
What is the problem?
I restarted the computer 2-3 times.

I moved to the other bios by switching from the button, I restarted and the same.

I don't use anything like that. I have now set the default image from windows.

Check power profile in Nvidia Control Panel, make sure you have "Power Management Mode" set to Normal.

There is no difference if I move it on normal mode.

The same. On high or low power its the same.
I put the video card in another computer and it is the same problem.
And in my computer I put an rtx 3060, and the power is 40w

The video card is still unopened. I didn't open it.

Board power might be 40W but you still have elevated clocks:

That 3060 should draw much less power in true idle, which is not the case with your system. Something running in the background is causing the elevated clocks.

I will install windows to have everything clean. I did a scan, I uninstalled some applications, but the problem still persists.

I mean, it's pretty obvious why: your GPU is never leaving its high-performance state, as evidenced by its clocks.

If you put the same card in another computer and had the same issue, that would strongly suggest the card is at fault.

The board has no problems. Something was running in the background and using resources.

It seems that the other computer I have has the same problem, I will reinstall windows there as well. I have no idea what program can use the video card, because it doesn't appear to be used in the task manager.

I noticed a similar thing with my 1050 when Discord was open, wouldn't return to idle clocks. Thought I'd mention that since I saw it open on your taskbar.

I think there is 5% load on VRAM (seen in AIDA64), weird...

Hi,

I recently ran into the same problem 100w on idle without anything open (except for hwmonitor). In my case, I recently bought a 160hz 4k monitor and when I limited fps to 60hz in nv control panel it went down to just 25watts. I obviously like smooth animations so I decided to go as far as i could and stopped at 144hz with only 35watts. Why that extra 16hz suddenly sucks an 65 watts more I have no idea, but try this and let me know if that solved it for you!
