Hi everyone!!

I purchase a used Saphire pulse 5700xt, and when I plugged it, I have a black screen... I know the rest of the system is OK cause when I put my 1060 6g back in, it is ok.

I use DDU to uninstall all the olders drivers (amd ans nvidia), and it it dont work.

I use the motherboard integrated graphics, and in the device manager I can see the card.

I downloaded AMD Adrenalin with the driver for my card, and it always freeze (in safe mode too) halfway...

I read a lot on the subject, and decided to try flashing the GPU bios. But I have always the same 0FL01 error and on top of that "newer rom already installed"...

I tried to flash the second BIOS too, but I had no success

Thanks

Yeah I saw it , but I am able to boot the system with the MOBO graphics (safe mode) with the GPU plug in... can i flash it this way? I will try to short the 1-8 pins for sure

Thanks
You can flash it but You will need to pull the heatsink and get a ram chip pic and a pic of the sku and p/n sticker on the heatsink, usually on the side of it.

Also buying nonfunctioning gpus is a crapshoot.

By RAM chip do you meen the bios chip (8 legs chip like in the video above)? If so, heres the pictures

In the attached picture taken from that youtube clip, i highlighted the VRAM chips.
Take off the thermal pads at least from one chip and make a clear picture where we can see the correct code from that chip.

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
I'm currently running 24 RX5700 at home 24/7/365 with zero failures after about 30 card-years of operation. Have another 100+ 5700XT at work in daily use by staff with zero failures.

I cannot say the same for RTX 20-series cards, already had to RMA a Gigabyte 2080Ti and couple of Palit 2070S from a sample size of only 60 cards.

Even my sample sizes aren't good enough to call solid, but that's about 200 cards so with a 1-2% typical RMA rate, I ought to have seen at least a few dead Navi cards by now, and I have not.

- Download the the good BIOS flash
- format the USB flash drive
-put the BIOS.rom on flash drive
-restart PC and BOOT it in flash drive
-when its ready, type : AMDVBFLASH.exe
-when its ready type : AMDVBFLASH -f -p 0 BIOS.rom
- Newer rom already installed 0FL01 Error

what am i doing wrong?

You need to pay attention to my directions, you are using the wrong tool yet again.

GET AMDVBFLASH 2.93.

Follow these steps carefully:

1. Open your "C:" drive in Windows, create a new folder, call it atiflash.

2. Extract the contents of atiflash_293.zip to the "C:\atiflash" folder

3. Find the bios file you downloaded and rename the bios file to sp57xt.rom

4. Move sp57xt.rom to the "C:\atiflash" folder

5. Open the start menu, type cmd, when cmd.exe appears right click it and hit "Run as administrator"

6. At the command prompt type in cd\ and press enter until only C:\> is on the screen.

7. Type in cd/atiflash and press enter, you should see C:\atiflash>

8. At the C:\atiflash> prompt type in
amdvbflash.exe -unlockrom 0
(there is a space between the e and -unlockrom and 0)(0 is the number zero)
press enter and you will be prompted that the "ROM Unlocked"

9. At the C:\atiflash> prompt type in
amdvbflash.exe -f -p 0 sp57xt.rom
(there is a space between the .exe and -f, and a space between -f and -p and 0)press enter.

Follow directions on screen and if flash is successful exit the command prompt and restart, windows should show up on screen.

So, I did all you said and the command prompt said to restart. So I stopped it, I unplugged the DVI cable of my integrated mobo graphics, and plug the hdmi in my 5700 xt. Turn on the PC, and nothing. The VGA light of the mobo was solid white like before (when it.dont boot) .

So I plugged back the DVI in the mobo, and tried to install the drivers of the card with Adrenalin. Like before, the process is freezing halfway.. I let it do its things?

Thanks

What ? Both BIOS-es from your card are wrong ?
Who flashed them ? And for what purpose ?

Probably for mining... my question is: if the secondary bios is bricked, can it cause my problem?

Also, does a hard reset of my mobo can help? (I updated the bios already)

Thanks

So now the two Bios are identical.

It didn't work, so I did a Hard Reset on the MOBO. I didn't reinstall the newest drivers

Didn't work either ....

Like before, when it try to boot up on the GPU, the VGA light on the mobo stay solid white and the screen didn't even turn on...

When I try to install the drivers, it freeze at exactly 50% (with adrenalin)

I try the 1-8 pins technic?
