Pffff Nexus compared it to 3600............ its thinking of an idiot!!!! Especially when 3500X is compared to ........... i5 9400F or i3

Ryzen 5 3600 = 195 USD
Ryzen 5 3500x = 116 USD

Price difference = 80USD (Ryzen 5 3600 costs 168% of 3500X price)
Gaming performance difference = 1-2%

And he say - there is no point to buy it............ NICE!

How GN calling the 3500X China ONLY when that processor is officially available in other places like India.
China Only. Even some names are in Chinese despite this being their English website.

Given that these CPUs are now shipped globally via Aliexpress, I wouldn't be surprised if they come up in some stores or web auctions. There's a lot of margin for the middleman. :)

Maybe China only for the 3500X but it looks like Dell is selling a 3500.
Honestly, I don't know how this company works. 3500X at least exists on their website (no links but accessible via search). 3500 doesn't.

Maybe it's OEM-only? AMD makes a lot of custom CPUs (also not listing them on the website). Maybe they treat this one similarly.

As for VAT, there's a fairly high chance that our customs wouldn't even charge you VAT on import. If the seller sends it by China post or something similar you're safe. Same with sending stuff from the US, where the odds are against you when you use UPS or FedEX as they run their own internal procedures, while something like USPS gets processed by Polish Post and our customs office.

But hey, used CPU, no warranty, etc. Unless you're really short on cash I wouldn't even bother with it.

The obligation to pay VAT comes from buying goods that are taxed - not from the fact that the administration checked what's inside your package.
Hopefully this is obvious and we don't have to continue this topic...

Brand new headphones ordered from Hong Kong, worth about $120 - no VAT applied by customs.

You're talking about the rules, I'm talking about my own experience.

This really isn't any different than someone working in New Hampshire and getting packages shipped to them at work to avoid paying Massachusetts sales taxes because they live south of the border. Technically MA law requires them to report these purchases and pay the appropriate sales tax, but no one does that because they'd rather evade the tax and is the sole reason for doing it.

I think @notb's point is that even if customs doesn't factor VAT in, you're still responsible to pay, otherwise it's tax evasion, not unlike the case I just describe above. I think that's the point.

Yes, I'm talking about rules.
One should pay VAT because he buys stuff. Not because someone noticed.
Similarly, you have to pay for a candy bar because you buy it, not because shop security caught you red-handed. :)

This CPU is not tax-free and every tax-evading buyer has to consider the possibility that the package will be checked and he'll be forced to pay VAT.

Moreover, customs officers in different countries may have different success rate in doing their job.
So the fact that millions of Aliexpress packages pour into Poland unchecked and untaxed doesn't mean a buyer from US or Japan will be just as lucky.

Buying from Aliexpress seems to be a gamble. It has been over a month and the delivery has not arrived here in Canada. Last update was Dec-12 for the package. So I told the seller (they do have good rating) that if by the 8th there is no item, I am opening a dispute. How fricking long does it take to ship from China to Canada?

It isn't fine though. Agreements are agreements and if the shipping details are none existent and the promise is 25 days. Then they should follow through. If not, face consequences. I mean, if they tell me it will arrive by early feb, then I may just forgo the wanting money back or what not. But I would like to have an explanation as to where my product is. Since I paid for it.
