Hi all,

I've just upgraded to Ryzen 5600 and paired it with Snowman X4 Cpu Cooler which was supporting me with my previous build on Ryzen 1500X.

Now I know that Cpu cooler is not great but its better than stock cooler. I was wondering if I buy something like Deepcool Ak400 will it make significant difference in terms of temperature? I dont really want to spend more money on high end cpu coolers like ak620 since its a lot more expensive in my country. (also I am not sure if it fits my case)

I am currently using my 5600 with pbo + 100 enabled. Curve Optimizer -30 -30 -20 -30 -30 -20. At full load it draws 100-105 watts.

And these are temps on Cinebench benchmark:

r/PcBuild - Ryzen 5600 PBO Enabled (120* Watt) + Deepcool AK400?
If i want to use pbo + 200 enabled. Curve Optimizer -30 -30 -20 -30 -30 -20. At full load it draws 120-130 watts.

Cinebench Benchmark Temps:

r/PcBuild - Ryzen 5600 PBO Enabled (120* Watt) + Deepcool AK400?
Also Idle Temps seems quite high when PBO enabled (50 C on 46 Watts). I dont know if its because of the cooler or just a Ryzen 5000 thing.

So in conclusion how much Ak400 benefits me in terms of temperature here? Do i need to buy high end cooler if i want to use this CPU with PBO enabled or is it overkill?

First of all you need to specify the ambient temperature where your computer is running. Your numbers would be great in a 35C room, not so much at 18C.

Generally speaking I see nothing scary with the first numbers. But I would leave the +200 alone because that is overheating.

Your computer will benefit from a better cooler, especially if you want to push PBO further. But as long as you don't push PBO to hard, it is not a required upgrade.
