SanDisk X600 SSD still good?

Hey guys,

I had a friend who was complaining that her HP Pavilion laptop (around 4-5 years old) was slowing down significantly. Changed thermal paste, upgraded RAM from 4GB to 16GB, and checked her SSD (Sandisk X600 128GB M.2 SATA). Was shocked to find that the reads/writes were the highest I had ever seen in any drive.

The SSD still works and I've attached the Crystaldiskinfo and Crystaldiskmark screenshots. Please note the SSD is almost full capacity with only 5GB or so remaining free space. I'm definitely thinking on replacing it since this drive was only rated for 72TBW. Sandisk SSD Dashboard reports 86% health remaining. Any advice/thoughts?

Those performance numbers and the fact that the smart status still shows "Good" says that everything is good with that drive. However, getting a new SSD is not a bad idea. SSD's are not expensive currently. A good quality 1TB can be had for as little as $60

This is the problem.

SSDs keep thieir cell usage and performance consistent by swapping out data among cells regularly. They can't do that when the drive is full, leading to uneven wear and inconsistent performance.

Free up at least 10-15% of the drive's space (but ideally 20%), and you'll see it's up to speed again.

Back in the days, with Windows on HDDs, when the free space left came down to 10%, it would bog down.
