Sapphire NITRO+ RX 5700 XT BE original BIOS request

Hi all,
My brother bought a used NITRO+ RX 5700 XT BE 8G GDDR6
The card has at least one of its bioses rewritten - It only runs at 100W with fans on full blast and a broken fan curve.
The second quiet bios seems fine, but flashing an original one would probably be ideal either way.

The card is the BE variant and I have a very hard time finding the original BIOS files. Also, I only had luck doing anything with amdvbflash using the latest version. The default 2.93 does not play with Windows 11 at all.
I am open to trying a Linux version though.

Hope I did not forget to include anything in the screenshots.
Today we re-pasted it and changed out the thermal pads. He does not have the money to get another one and I would feel bad selling this one as is.

Thank you very much for any help.

This should be the full list of Sapphire RX 5700 XT Bose’s with Samsung support which we have on techpowerup:

Thank you very much. I guess I didn't check unverified uploads or something.

Just gonna make sure, the E426 you gave me in the google query is a typo right? It's the last group of the device id from gpu z and mine has the E last, not first. Or am I reading it wrong?

Another question. So device id and subsystem id is all I need. Or do I worry about the PN too?

It isn’t a typo. E426 is listed in the part number. If you check the PCB, you will see it listed as well.

I see. So gpu-z is showing a different one than it should be… Maybe because of the bios tomfoolery. Or are these unrelated?

If you have a link to a relevant thread I'd appreciate that. I don't want to bother you with my endless questions.

Ok, going to try to flash one of the ones your query gave me. Thank you

It’s not the same. It’s the device id naming convention to list the part number in that way.

Okay, thanks to you, we've been able to go through the process of flashing a 210W VBIOS. I diffed the hex of the one on the GPU and the downloaded one, they are virtually identical, except a few values somebody edited, metadata is the same, you were spot on.
Unfortunately the flash does not stick throughout a reboot.
We tried flashing from Hiren's Boot, booted through UEFI with secureboot off. This way it did not stick either.
What are our other options? Is it FreeDos/Linux time? Do we need to boot through MBR? Is there another option to switch? Is booting from one bios and flashing the other one required?

Either way, thank you so much, you got us through one brick wall. It just sucks there's another one right behind it.

Did you try to follow the steps mini flash guide? See below. Latest version to support forced flashing for a RX 5700 XT is AMDVBLFash v2.93
Get amdvbflash 2.93

https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ati-atiflash/

Then look for Version 4.68, underneath 4.68 you will see a link to show older version, click that and you should see version 2.93

Here is a fix to make 2.93 work in Windows 10 and 11, Get the zip for version 5.0.567, extract it, then find the AMDVBDriverInstaller, execute the file and follow prompts, then restart the computer, that should help with bypassing Win8 Security feature prompt, if you get that prompt hit ok. Once done flashing run the file again to uninstall it for safety reasons

Follow these steps carefully:

1. Open your "C:" drive in Windows, create a new folder, call it atiflash.

2. Extract the contents of atiflash_293.zip to the "C:\atiflash" folder

3. Find the bios file you downloaded and rename the bios file to 5 digits with .rom on end Example RX 580, change file to rx580.rom (r****.rom)

4. Move r****.rom to the "C:\atiflash" folder

5. Open the start menu, type cmd, when cmd.exe appears right click it and hit "Run as administrator"

6. At the command prompt type in cd\ and press enter until only C:\> is on the screen.

7. Type in cd/atiflash and press enter, you should see C:\atiflash>

8. Type in amdvbflash.exe -i to identify the gpu you want to flash with a 0, 1, or 2)

9. At the C:\atiflash> prompt type in
amdvbflash.exe -unlockrom 0
(there is a space between the e and -unlockrom and 0)(0 is the number zero)
press enter and you will be prompted that the "ROM Unlocked" (or 1, 2)

10. At the C:\atiflash> prompt type in
amdvbflash.exe -f -p 0 r****.rom
(there is a space between the .exe and -f, and a space between -f and -p and 0).
(Or 1, 2)

Press Enter

Follow directions on screen and if flash is successful exit the command prompt and restart, windows should show up on screen.

Oh, I missed your reply. Thank you. We will definitely try this. Now that you mention it, I think I did this once then totally forgot about it.

Hi again. We tried using the 2.93, but unfortunately it shows the card test as FAIL, even if the 5.0.567 shown PASS. We tried using the UEFI version of 2.93 and it shows FAIL as well. unlockrom says that it succeeded, but it fails to initialize flashing. Now we have bigger problems with general system instability. I could also try flashing it in my PC through the UEFI version of 2.93. Anyway, if anyone has more ideas on what to attempt next. I am all ears. Thnak you so much for the help you've given us already.

Also I asked about our instability problems on the LTT forum. Link: https://linustechtips.com/topic/160...ryzen-2600-sapphire-nitro-5700xt-mining-card/

Ok, new PSU solved the system instability issue, so we're back to "just" trying to get the card to stock VBIOS

Can you check if all the pins on the EEPROM is making properly contact to the PCB?
Do you have this issue with both bioses when flashing?

Thank you, will check the second bios, but I'll try to hold off dismounting the cooler for now. I'll remember to try that when my brother visits with his PC.
