so recently i started getting trouble after swapping my case, first games such as TLOU2 started stuttering, GTA V crashed a few times (fine now). Now i was playing SOTTR after a while, i remember last time it was fine at that scene with same hardware config. I have tried different pc, my own pc with gt 710

igpu on that 4th gen i3 pc, different drives for game installation, even new clean install of windows 11. Only common thing both these PCs have is mismatched ram but it was fine before (atleast on my main pc) so issue could be something else too but as i overclocked my ram 2-3 months ago

despite restricted airflow on my older case i set voltage to 1.4v which can be unsafe on my cheap motherboard with basic vrm and imc. That was for a brief period but for few months i did have it at 1.38v with restricted airflow in a poor airflow case. According to Chatgpt the event log error indicates memory violation, can be linked to ram, also because during memtest it got stuck at 21% with both gpus. I have tried putting each stick once in both slots, no help. I forgot to run memtest in spare pc

Although i use superlite version by ghost spectre, i did try full stock windows from microsoft, a old iso my brother had for 23h2, same he has installed in his pc facing no issue. He has 3060 ti, i5 9400f, 16gb gskill ripjaws.

I have also tried flashing bios on both my gpu as well as motherboard, also default settings on the latter. For some reason issue does seem to be game specific. There are other anomalies too such as flickering texture on the distance objects in some games. Furmark ran fine for it's default 20-25m session with hotspot reaching 75c max.

So that also clears out gpu side of things. There have been buzzing sound on occasion such as when installing gpu drivers or started a live stream such as on hotstar or even editing videos in camtasia, pointing at unstable hardware.

This is what chatgpt says:

If you're freezing in memtest that ram has got to go.

You check the event viewer log to see what the crash reason it - usually in application or system it will say what the deal was. If you see Cx0000005 or some other access violation or driver crashing then it's most likely memory - but the memtest is a dead giveaway - I've seen unstable systems run that for 12 hours and pass.

yes same error

so both of my 2 sticks are faulty? might upgrade to 32gb altogether
Probably just one. either going to 32gb or replacing the bad 8gb stick are good options -- whatever makes the most financial sense.

it could that my both sticks are dead because i tried them individually in both slots as well

And maybe avoid pushing the voltages which accelerates aging.
still crashing at same point with my brother's pc stick, could be bad imc

even with spare 8gb stick and other one from my brother's pc crashed at point again, now faults narrows down to either cpu or mobo

yeah might be time to salvage and upgrade. you may have busted a ramslot or two during the case move.

i still have 1 year warranty left on both, considering going to service center.
